Learning to Fly, Remembering to Swim
Do what mind tells body
when drawing you to edge
and you’ll fall to oblivion.
Jumping with a parachute
isn’t normal for humanity
we must remember to pull.
sky views are new, deep diving is old
Inhale exhale keep mask clear
underwater life isn’t natural
landlubber not an amphibian.
Ancestors dived deep for sponge
weights helped divers go deeper
never beyond breathing bends danger.
