Hi, it’s Harry Silhouetteof-Wolfhowlingonhill, satirical comedy television correspondent in the style of erstwhile Harry Hill.
Fifty Shades of Grey
The Greenygrey decided to avoid the 50 Shades of Grey furore a couple of years ago, although Grey was in the middle of its epic Australian Ozyssey when it was published in June 2011 (as seen on the australiatravellerwebsite), as we consider ourselves a family (of werewolves) site.
However, when the returned British sitcom Birds of a Feather‘s first series episode turned Fifty Shades of Greyto Sixty Shades of Green, written by a rebranded Foxy, we thought we had to mention it.
I only watched the first episode for old time’s sake, having quite enjoyed the original series. I haven’t watched any other episodes since.
Putting 50 Shades of Grey and 60 Shades of Green together would make 110 Shades of Greenygrey, although a better title would probably be made from going to the middle of 50 and 60 to create Fifty-Five Shades of Greenygrey.
English: Birds of a feather etc (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
The double 5 if using numbers, or F if using letters, would also be in line with the double G of greenygrey; and F is of course only one letter before G.
Not that there’s any relevance to anything, if you’d forgotten the satirical introduction!
We have no plans to write such a book though.
Birds of a Feather is available on the ITV website, but just in the U.K. I think. The first episode is available for just over a day from now.
Marc Latham’s latest Folding Mirror is from his own mind, experience and memories. He thinks it’s an anti-suicide poem if anything, but also thinks that you can read what you want into it, and do whatever you want.

Nature
Wolves starred in the first episode of my human parallel Chris Packham‘sInside the Animal Mind. This made for a great greenygrey wolf and human cover photo to advertise the nature documentary.
Wolf and Dog Differences
The documentary showed that although wolves and dogs are essentially the same, they have evolved very different sensory styles because wolves remained wild while dogs were domesticated by humanity.
Wolves rely very heavily on smelling, which is very acute, while dogs use more of their other senses, such as sight for responding to human directions.
Sweden Cancels Wolf Hunt
Hi, it’s Chris Packwolf, with a round-up of the greenygrey-related animal news in the human world.
First of all, I’d like to thank the Swedish and Norwegian governments and people for preserving their wild wolf packs.
In another new nature documentary, Hidden Kingdomsreminded me of Marc Latham’s ant theory, with small animals shown living just as eventful lives as bigger mammals in the world humans and wolves see and smell.
The grasshopper mouse featured in the first episode was like a little wolf, even howling to communicate and mark its territory.
The mouse also shares the wolf’s tenacity, fighting species much bigger than it, helped by evolving immunity from scorpion and snake venom.
Nepal Mastiff Dog Mountain Photos
There was also some great greenygrey scenery on Marc Latham’s travel25yearsblog, with a mastiff dog and other animals enjoying a sleepy existence high up in the Himalayas.
There’s also a lot of hard work going on around there though, and it’s a tough place to live, as shown in other photos on the t25y site.
I hope you have now recovered from Australia Day and the final thrilling episode of the serialisation of undoubtedly the best ever werewolf virtually travels Australia to a Wizard of Oz theme satirical comedy travel quest.

Werewolf of Oz Thrilling Conclusion

Hi, it’s Greenygrey. Yes, that means you get to find out what the commotion out at sea that only Grey could see…
really was; as well as reading a couple more little literary nonsense poems and one more example of classic comedy wordplay.
I’m sure you can’t wait, so I’ll let you get on with your virtual rambling. Thanks for following the epic journey, and the book is still available from the links below it, with no plans to discount its price this year.

Chapter 142. The End: of the Werewolf of Oz Era
It was Tazzy! I squawked with joy before flying down to meet him; whereupon I changed back into a more recognisable werewolf form. We greeted before I asked him what he was doing here.
Tazzy said he often swam up this way; after all, it is the Tasman Sea.
I laughed, before exclaiming, ‘Of course!’ The last riddle of the ramble had been solved… as far as I was concerned. What about you?
I now felt free to return to the Greenygrey world.

Tazzy was continuing north, so I shapeshifted into a dolphin-friendly tuna and swam with him.
We swam side by side
until he dived beneath
to turn around
at top of Barrier Reef;
my original Oz
landmark brief;
we happily said goodbye
finality’s welcome relief.
I jumped out of the water and shapeshifted into a wedge-tailed eagle for the long flight back to a long awaited reunion with Green in the Greenygrey world.
Two years in the writing
sometimes flying, mostly hiking
Werewolf of Oz kept moving
experiencing, shapeshifting, grooving.
It’s Australia Day in most of Australia now, with Perth and the west coast, where Grey’s werewolf Ozysseyall setoffee, set to join the rest of Oz in less than halfling a hobbit (half an hour in human time).

Grey’s Australia Day Tribute Song
Hi, it’s Greenygrey. We thought we’d get the Australia Day greenygrey festivities off to a musical start with Grey’s Oz version of Madonna’sDon’t Cry For Me Argentina, with lyrics adapted from the AZ Lyrics.comsite.
Madonna has supported the Greenygrey in the past, as shown in the accompanying photo, which resident archaeological comedian Tony Loboinson has unearthed. He thinks it’s one of the earliest examples of the greenygreying fashion craze in pop culture.
Here’s Grey’s song for Australia:
Don’t Cry For Me Australia
So I chose freedom
Rambling around, trying everything new
And heaps impressed me
I never expected it to
Don’t cry for me Australia
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise
Don’t keep your distance
And as for fortune, and as for fame
I never invited them in
Though it seemed to the world they were all I desired
They are illusions
They are not the solutions they promised to be
The answer was here all the time
I love you and hope you love me
Don’t cry for me Australia
Have I said too much?
I know you’d rather be watching the bush telly
But all you have to do is look at me to know
That every word is bonzer.
Epic may have been an overused word in the 1950s, when big budget Hollywood epics were rolled out like there was no tomorrow. Epics are not so common now, but with a cast of lots, we think theWerewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Mapscan quite comfortably fit into the Epic category.

Werewolf of Ozfinal week is going on so long that we’ve got time for a satirical comedy rebranding, parodying our own work along with lots of other things in modern society.
Scooby Doo Werewolf Rebranding
Hi, it’s Greenygrey. We think Goodbye to WoO has lost its appeal and impact, so once more inspired byScooby Doo and in line with our werewolfism, we’re rebranding it to Werewell to WoO Week for the second half of the epic farewell.
One of my oldest and biggest inspirations Scooby Doo pronounced its Ss as Rs, which was a lovable characteristic, as explained on scoobydoo.wikia.
Grey was of course lucky enough to meet the Humpty Doo in Humpty Doo, Northern Territories.
Darwin the whistler duck from Darwin, Northern Territories, hypothesised on the origins of species that the Humpty Doo was descended from Scooby Doo and Humpty Dumpty. It certainly looked like them.
Grey’s ghost writer, Marc Latham, thought it was a classic episode when he was editing Grey’s rambling rambles.
Rebranding WoO
Our rebranding Farewell (to WoO) to Werewell (to WoO) combines our Scooby Doo inspiration along with the W that has become an important letter in the Greenygrey world: second only to the G.
This is of course in line with the WWW inspiration that brought the Greenygrey into the human world, although picky buggers might argue it’s a WWWW, or at least WwWW.
As many Australian place names seemed to fit well into the Wizard of OzWerewolf of Oz theme, such as there being an Emerald at the end of the travel quest in Queensland, I just found out this morning that this year’s Australia Day is at the end of the week where we say goodbye to the WoO serialisation.
Australia Day Sunday 26th January

Hi, it’s Greenygrey. Yes, I was alerted to the fact that it is Australia Day this Sunday, January 26th, by a Shooters sports bar advert.
I had already been thinking of dragging out Goodbye to WoO week as long as possible, and this gives me the perfect excuse.
In the style of Dame Edna, we like to think we’ve done our bit to put Australia on the map, but did your Aussie abode make it into the WoO.

Knowing WoO
Hi, it’s William Wolfsworth, poetry correspondent at the Greenygrey inspired by the great Romantic poet William Wordsworth.
Although previously in Goodbye to WoO week we’ve shown how the Werewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Maps has put Australia on the map and changed its culture with the Boomerang social craze, some of you are probably wondering what the WoO’s done for us.
Knowing Me: 70 Poems of Literary Nonsense Poetry
Well, I think the Greenygrey is much happier within itself since its epic Ozyssey, with Green saying Grey seems much closer to it since it achieved the dust sandy path travel quest, and met lots of great characters along the way.
And I think that writing up its journey, and including seventy literary nonsense poems, has made it a better writer and poet, as the above poem suggests to me.
