Superbrands Survey and Cartoon Commuter Art

There’s good and bad news in the Greenygrey world today. Maybe combined together, they suggest that the Greenygrey is still one of the people and wolves, and not yet a super brand.

Hi, it’s Wolf Whitzer, GGN (Greenygrey News) comedy satire correspondent in the style of Wolf Blitzer in the CNN world.

First the bad news. Paul Keogh recently reported the latest Superbrands UK survey of the most popular brands in the Metro

The Greenygrey was unfortunately not in the top 20. Looking on the bright side, we could have been number 21; we just don’t know!

Perhaps like the phrase always the bridesmaid and not the bride, our Werewolf of Oz and 242 Mirror Poems books did help Google reach number 7 and Amazon.co.uk number 13 in the Consumer Superbrands 2014.

Maybe we’ll be the bride next year, or even the Cinderella Werewolf, like the story of the boxer Ray Bradbury told in Cinderella Man!

Passing Public Transport Time

How To Pass Time On A Train

And now for the good news. Sharon Marris reported in the Metro last month that the artist Joe Butcher, a.k.a. October Jones, passes his time on public transport by drawing cartoon characters on paper and superimposing them on other commuters… and their seats!

The Greenygrey got in the story (photos below) thanks to some lovely seating (arm rest in the second), drawing and jacket-wearing. Moreover, our Mickey Mouse made the top photo.

Drawing Cartoon Characters

While it was great news to feature in the cartoons and story we’d have preferred to be paired with Wile E. Coyote (above), Sylvester, Tom and Jerry, Foghorn Leghorn, Pepe Le Pew, Yosemite Sam, Muttley, Hong Kong Phooey, Woody Woodpecker, Top Cat, Scooby Doo or Daffy Duck.

In the first photo Mickey looks happyish to be paired with Greenygrey, but in the second The Incredible Hulk doesn’t look so happy… but green is his angry colour, so at least he’s not ripping up the carriage!
