Poem Philosophy: Questioning Human Evolution Monarch Butterfly Solution?

While watching a recent episode of The Living Universe they said that to travel beyond our solar system is a multi-generation project, with the next solar system 170,000 times as far as Mars; the first of billions in our galaxy, with billions of galaxies in the universe.

Of Monarch and Man

It reminded me of the monarch butterfly migration, which takes several generations to complete the long round trip; a few generations heading north, and then one long trip south for the last.

Humanity always seems to have had the urge to travel; sometimes from necessity, such as ice ages, but other times seemingly just out of curiosity.

Unknown Past, Future Uncertain

Is it just the way our brain has adapted to circumstances, or is it something embedded in it since creation; as each generation of the monarch butterfly plays its part without seeming to know why in the bigger picture – as we know the world and universe?

Is this age of humanity, between ape and AI, according to evolution theory, like one generation of monarch butterfly pre-programmed to play a part in a much bigger space time picture?

Physical Gravity, Dextrous Mentality

Am I E.T., Yeti Discovery
my humanity distant memory
mind travelled deep in space
escaped the human race
for a finishing line?
I’m inclined to decline

seeking future,  fearing dystopia; already here, passed utopia

as if in DNA
higher order at play?
like generational butterfly migrations
their trees our space stations
not knowing reason why
just feeling urge to fly

UFO Positives and Negatives Mirror Poem

I’ve watched quite a lot of UFO documentaries on Quest (Discovery in the USA) and Yesterday in the UK, as well as the History channel when I had that. The amount of evidence suggests there are alien UFOs; correlating with our official discoveries in space about the size of the universe and amount of stars and planets in it; but there are still a lot of unanswered questions: if they are so advanced, how come they crash, as they have done for several of the most famous reports, such as Roswell, Salta and Thessaloniki.

UFOs and Humanity Contact: Many Variables Possibilities

Most reports are of craft that keep to themselves, but there are good and bad ones of closer contact: good ones being aliens waving or helping humans, and bad ones abductions and physical harm. Maybe they’re more interested in our resources, such as reports of uranium mining, so will deplete our planet quicker. Some reports have cited the UFOs caused radiation harm too.

I suppose they don’t sound too different to our contact with tribes still isolated in jungles etc, living stone-age lives. They must have seen our planes, and wondered who we are. Those planes might have seemed beyond their understanding, but could still crash – usually even if they crashed they would be able to escape without contact, especially with improved communication equipment.

I would like contact like in Close Encounters of the Third Kind movie, but there’s also the risk of it being hostile, as in many other sci-fi films, such as Alien and The Thing. However, even if the aliens were friendly, would humanity be, or would they just try and use the aliens for power over other humans, as tribes in history have sided with invading powers for their own benefit.

Here’s my poem below, framed by a couple of UFOs. The first greenYgrey and the second PinkyOrangePurple (POP), in line with the colour themes of my greenYgrey website. The poem is told from an alien point of view, with its contents created from my research into UFOs over the last few years, since Quest presented a series featuring lots of new evidence along with some historical.

UFOs Amazing Manoeuvres! Destructive Crash Disprovers?

our most impressive technology
changing direction at full velocity
not in a straight line, continuously
but turning right angles instantly
we must have travelled great distances
perhaps on Earth with your ancients
respecting life on your planet
stopping wars and warning about climate

like humans with nature, we can’t help interfere

studying biology and creating electrical interference
only locally making a difference
planetary invaders if you claim territory
although there is no agreed boundary
when we crash its embarrassing
after travelling through star nurseries, massing
if we  hear you accuse
advanced brain power our excuse

UFO Mount Olympus
Artistic impression I think, of UFO and beautiful example of a POP (PinkyOrangePurple) twilight time.

My renewed interest in UFOs has been since writing XaW Files: Beyond Humanity.   There’s not much UFO activity in my X-Files parody, but there’s lots of excellent comedy and writing:

Our Place in Space Poem Inspired by French Film

I got the idea of ‘humanity are waves of the ocean, not the oceans’ while watching the French film Heal the Living (Réparer les vivants); an adaptation by Katell Quillévéré from a book by Maylis de Kerangal, who studied history and philosophy in Rouen and Paris.

Inspiring Surfing Sea Sleep Scenes

I don’t know if my thoughts were what the film’s creators intended to convey, and my thoughts were also influenced by my prior learning and knowledge, especially into space and astronomy, animals and nature, including UFOs and our place in the universe.

I thank all those who’ve helped me see so far in my lifetime, from the astronomers on Earth to the astronauts in space; and those in power who’ve allowed freedom of information, to the investigators who’ve conducted their own research, and presented it in the media.

Opening Sky Sight

Without all of you, I would just know the sky above, and be wondering about what is beyond. I would say like my ancestors, but who knows what they knew, and who they had contact with. We only know about 5000 years of ‘history’ and have only travelled as far as our moon, both of which are tiny amounts in the vastness of space time.

We are finding out more about our past and present all the time, and may it continue into the distant future… remembering the first and foremost rule is that the limitations are ours, but that our perseverance has broken through the placenta atmosphere, and we are still alive. We are like a baby seeing the world for the first time (this wave of humanity baby anyway!), and still have a lot of learning to do…

Victoria’s Secret Show Naughty Poem

The annual Victoria’s Secret’s show was like eating a beautiful cake, knowing there’s a lot of bad ingredients, but some things are worth the cost. That probably doesn’t count for the planet, but there’s so much else that is destroying it, that it is just one little beautiful human island in an ocean of overpopulation and consumption that nobody’s really doing much about on a scale that will prevent anything as far as most scientists have been predicting for decades.

Risking My Reputation for Beautiful Blondes

Congratulations to the blondes who’ve survived the Multicultural Fascist with-hunt! If in line with Darwin’s theory of evolution of the strongest surviving, then only the most beautiful blondes would have made it to the catwalk.

As probably the leading doctor of philosophy expert in beautiful blondes, working diligently for five years to attain the award; openly out of the Victoria’s Secret lingerie closet anyway! (a joke I made about coming out of the closet years ago!!); I don’t think Darwin’s theory was disproved.

I am now also the first lesbiman (creating that word out of what was before lesbian man). That doesn’t mean I want to wear Victoria’s Secret lingerie, but does mean I’d like to be invited to one of their pyjama parties! Not expecting though!!!

This is a fitting remembrance Sunday poem according to the democratic tradition, as they say the wars were fought for these freedoms, as I saw somebody say on the news this morning that the attack on the Charlie Hebdo office in Paris had inspired more appreciation in France since then.

Njörd's_desire_of_the_Sea

I wrote this during the Remembrance Sunday commemorations. It’s what my muse directed me to write, without planning. I still remembered the brave war dead, but don’t think I can ever better my previous poem posted on this site: The Whistle Cried Heavy.

The only correction I made to the whole post was changing the penultimate line of the poem from ‘you kill life’ to ‘we kill life’, taking responsibility for what I do, knowing I’m far from perfect!

Benedict Cumberbatch, Grinch, Naps to the Writing Mind and Characters

In January 2017 I wrote on the greenYgrey site that I was on the road to Benedict Cumberbatch, due to arrive when I’m 60 . I am now in that dimension: 7 B.B.C.
Meanwhile, B.C. seems to be going in the other direction, becoming the greenYgreyish Grinch, including background design, and advocating naps as a way to stay sane, as I was then!
As reported on MSN.
I was going to add he’s different because he’s a parent to two children, but then I thought maybe it isn’t totally different, because the greenYgrey became
an important creation to me
beyond humanity…

Learners Cross Paths with Teachers

It’s probably all a coincidence, and I doubt Benedict Cumberbatch has even heard of me; I haven’t paid much attention to him, and nearly wrote Cumberpatch before checking it!

I was thinking about fictional characters earlier funnily enough, in a hypnagogic non-comedy way, and how we relate to them, people thinking they are vampires and wizards like the characters they read about. Most of us travel parallel with the characters, but some unfortunately cross the road into the fictional world and characters; which is okay if they are positive and harmless.

Mary Shelley and Bram Stoker

Once you learn more about fiction and philosophy you learn that those characteristics have been studied and written about immemorially, with most writers and readers sharing being more introvert than extrovert, because they take the time to write and read, so they are relating to the writers of Frankenstein and Dracula rather than the characters themselves.

I watched a documentary about Stephen King recently, and it said all his characters, many of whom are very negative indeed, are all extreme examples from his mind; not the majority controlling characteristics, but there all the same. Writing his fiction at the rate it did drove him to the edge of sanity, and drink and drug addiction.

I kept the greenYgrey trilogy light, and my consumption too,
it led me to name it coffilosophy, surviving the protagonist for you…
and me
sanity.

When Scottish Skies are Smiling

I saw on the news this morning; reminding me of the Beatles song, oh boy (posted below from YouTube); there’d been a sighting of the greenYgrey in Shetland (in the form of the aurora borealis); the only place in the UK it visited of course on its epic Euro trek: XaW Files: Beyond Humanity. It might have inspired this little poem, although I’ve always liked those place names, which is one reason why I fantasy travelled with the greenYgrey…

  • While Manchester seems like
the place to be on Wednesday
I’d rather be in Fort William
    for the visit of Clachnacuddin
    or nestled in Nairn County
    for their battle with Brora
on paper by names at least
for the weather can be a beast
    although the aurora borealis
is brightening the sky at least.

I also remembered Finland and Scandinavia yesterday on this website’s sister site, travel25years.

Brain Creation Coffee or Cortisol Folding Mirror Poem

This latest Folding Mirror poem developed out of a few articles and documentaries I’ve seen recently; while the screen hypnosis was featured in Moby’s Porcelain memoir, cited here recently; so at least five multi-media sources over a coupla/few months.

A couple were about ideal coffee drinking times, in relation to your cortisol levels, saying you should avoid drinking coffee just after awakening, as your body is naturally producing cortisol then, which has a similar effect as caffeine. Cortisol is produced on average by the body’s circadian rhythm between 8-9, 12-1 and 5.30-6.30 so the article said it’s best to avoid drinking it then.

Another article said that cortisol could actually shrink the brain, which I thought I might have felt during times of coffilosophy, when I was digging deep into the mind to create, and then concentrating to get it down on screen. I’d also feel tired afterwards a lot of the time, needing a nap, which could have been to do with the physical demands I think this kind of creation can impose.

In a Horizon documentary about the body clock, circadian rhythm and sleep, with volunteer, Aldo Kane, locked away from daylight for a month without knowing the time, chronobiologist Professor Jeffrey Hall  said the circadian rhythm is in all animals and was one of the first genetic imprints in us all.

A BBC Click documentary had a nice introduction to a piece about new ADHD technology with roundabout-cars chaos, which reminded me of some coffilosophy times when I’d feel like that. Sometimes the ideas would come together into a poem, story or blog post, like this one; other times I’d forget some of it, like the cars of the roundabout going the wrong way and getting lost!

It was kinda fun, and the best way for me to work, but not really efficient and dependable, which is why I think I’m more suited to this kind of creative writing!!

This is a self-portrait image I created in 2005, when the current mental health initiatives were in their infancy, to try and show as best I could how I thought my ADHD mind worked:
