UFO Footage Real and Unidentified: Pentagon

USA military release UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena – alternative to sensationalist UFO) footage, declaring them real and the aircraft unidentified article on MSN.

My response, starting with a little (rude) X-Files wordplay joke:

Why did the Pentagon release them now?
For Fox Mulder’s Sake!

Chile released similar military footage of a tic-tac shaped UAP (UFO) from 2014 in 2017: available online.
Not far from the USA for us, and a short step for a bullet-speed aircraft.
Most countries in the world have many UFO cases, with some American documentary series collecting the most notable as those countries’ Roswell: Mexico, Brazil, Russia etc.
If they are alien, I don’t think they are more of a threat to us than we already face from fellow humans, directly and indirectly.

Background

While I’ve been interested in UFOs since childhood I’d become sceptical in adulthood; putting it down to new military technology, such as stealth; and while writing XaW Files: Beyond Humanity (it includes a little X-Files reference, but not much UFO!.. but was investigating my own brain through the writing mind!!).

Ironically, the year after publishing that (X-Files returned during the writing!) I watched the UFOs: The Lost Evidence series on Quest, and its new cases added to old reinvigorated my interest. Ancient Aliens had a lot of good info too, but got a bit much with claiming everything within its theory. Then Blaze channel arrived, with lots more American series from the previous decade. Again, there’s a lot of good info, but a lot that seems sensational and unlikely.

My latest books, full of the mysteries of the mind, and my self-learning mostly through TV and online about science and space, turned into poetry and prose (but not much UFOs!):

Johnson Son: Another coincidental prophecy?

Yesterday at 13.05 I posted on Facebook: ‘Boris has become Jesusson instead of Johnson for some since Easter rising.’  I  referenced the Jesus’ Son 1999 movie starring Billy Crudup, Samantha Morton, Holly Hunter, Jack Black, Denis Leary and Dennis Hopper.

I’d been meaning to write it since hearing Ian Hislop mention it on the topical quiz show Have I Got News For You two Fridays ago. He’d said some of the right-wing press had used that reference after Johnson left hospital on the Easter weekend.

He hadn’t combined them I like I did though, thinking of Scandinavian names that work like that, or referenced the Jesus’ Son movie: my additions to previous scholarship, using academic language.

I’d forgotten all about the expected Johnson baby when I wrote it.

Then today it was announced the Johnsons had a healthy son last night, born much earlier than most expected!

Another coincidental prophecy?

Frankie Goes to Hollywood Beat Journey Next Move for Frank Skinner?

After Frank Skinner’s beat poetry podcast maybe another programme could see him retrace the Beat journey to California, and be called Frankie Goes to Hollywood after the 1980s pop group!

GGF II?

If it included greenYgrey (and Frank: Road Trip), it could also be the new Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip (just done USA!), with GGF capitals!

New Scooby Doo?

They could also do Scooby Doo, with Frank’s scruffy look and zany personality ideal to play Shaggy!?

Until then, there’s always the greenYgrey trilogy!

Beat Poetry and Prose Reviewed by Frank Skinner

Frank Skinner poetry podcast on Beats is now available on Planet Radio, home of Absolute Classic Rock, and many other musical genres, mostly split by decades. I usually listen to the rock show, but if there’s a song I don’t really want to listen to on there, there’s usually one on another of the channels (I have no association with them, and am not trying to influence you!). That may change in the future; I’m open to offers!!; but I have no masterplans for it now!!!

Frank Skinner, Beats and Me

Frank Skinner’s been into the Beats since the late 1960s, so he wasn’t influenced by me! Apart from his comedy, I just related to him before as a working-class football supporter and big drinker; who I remember saying put his comedy before friendships!

Like with most things now, I picked out things I related to, as well as hoping to discover new things. I pretty much knew the Beat history and names he covered, and similarly appreciate it and know its limitations. Here’s some of the notes I made during it; if you’d like more info let me know:

Starts with Sometime During Eternity – Laurence Ferlinghetti

Says it’s not a great poem, but he hadn’t known poetry could be like that.

Beats inspired by Jazz – bebop

Saw writing as a sacred thing

Doesn’t see Kerouac’s On The Road as a novel – more a long poem

Then reviews two poems by Gregory Corso – Bomb : shaped like a bomb, innovative at time; and Man About to Enter Sea:  Sea is our home, man stands for mankind, swim is evolution. Then reality – only bathers on the summer shore, back to ordinary, fights the mundane, like musicians, don’t buy into the ordinary, allow yourself to see beyond that.

No fear of the blank page.

Then Allen Ginsberg: first thought, best thought – crumpled up the paper and trod it into the dirt more than anybody – Sunflower Sutra (1955) – before him and Kerouac were famous (Ginsberg’s Howl published in 56, Kerouac’s OTR in 57).

Thinks Kerouac novels not great on plot: why he’s more of a poet.

Kerouac and the greenYgrey trilogy

In that regard, the first of the greenYgrey trilogy (2008/09 – blogged on Blogpost) is most Beat-like, as it was written without much plot, just literary nonsense. That was like my demo, in the musical arc I worked the trilogy too.

Werewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Maps (now available as an ebook for free on Smashwords) was written freely, but then I went back at the end and tied the plot together on a six-month unpaid career break.

I had the denouement of the trilogy in my head before writing Xaw Files: Beyond Humanity, so it was a matter of filling in the blanks really – and choosing an X-Files series and episodes structure for the chapters and sub-chapters made it easier; although the length of it, and trying to make each of the 202 ‘episodes’ worthwhile was still mentally exhausting. It’s available for free as an ebook on Amazon Kindle Unlimited.

Frank Skinner Poetry Podcast – Beats Next Week

Frank Skinner, one of my favourite comedians of the last thirty years, has started a poetry podcast (https://planetradio.co.uk/podcasts/frank-skinner-poetry-podcast/listen/2028768/) available on Planet Radio from the above link, where he also presents a classic rock radio show, also available on podcast there.

The poetry podcast is pretty serious, whereas the rock show is more humorous.

Next week’s episode (on Monday, tomorrow) is on the Beats, who were my biggest poetry inspirations – although for me it was more Jack Kerouac’s On The Road spontaneous prose American travel book.

Werewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Maps Free Ebook

I’ve made my old book (2012) that light-heartedly twists the Wizard of Oz theme into one of good pagans and bad monotheists; inspired by the Homes Children historic child abuse being uncovered by Margaret Humphreys (told in the Oranges and Sunshine book and film, starring Emily Watson; as well as ‘nice’ movies like Crocodile Dundee and Australia) and the industrial scale street grooming (much of it targeting Homes Children) largely uncovered at the time. It has a veggie werewolf hero and lots of anthropomorphic characters travelling Australia; and a body, mind and spirit theme replacing heart, brain and courage; free on Smashwords (need a free account) as part of their coronavirus Authors Give Back promotion. Half Year Hair Personal Experiment

After yesterday’s blog had photos of me, a doctor of philosophy, at the start of October 2019, half a year later of not cutting hair or shaving over the coldest six months; and  self-isolating ‘beyond humanity‘ nearly all the time!; which included mistYmuse 2019/20, I looked like this:

Start of Half Year Self Experiment Photos

Inspired by werewolf folklore, a moon or two before the start of mistYmuse 2019/20, and after a decent summer of exercise, at the start of October just after my 54th birthday, I decided to stop cutting my hair and shaving. These are the last photos beforehand (for art and science rather than bravado and machismo):

Dream Memory Written Raw Through Coffee

Write from the brain
bean eases strain
remembering dream
something scream:

It’s there to learn
so burn, burn, burn.
(my interpretation, mixing The Doors’ Light  My Fire
with computer burning)

But what use will it be
stored in memory
nobody wants to know
three pages in a row?
(I do remember turning the page, and it having writing or symbols on it; and I think learning at least one page – the one I turned over onto I think, and the ‘tutor’ saying something like ‘See, you can do it if you try’)

Show don’t tell
knowledge not hell
concentrate to read

reassuring totem.

Searching Wikipedia totem clarification
I find ‘tutelary’ guardian in the description.
Was that the main lesson of the dream/nightmare:
‘seeing/remembering’ my tutor for the first time?
But was I meant to remember what I read?
Or was it a test to see if I’d guess instead?

Nostradamus Extra: French Terrorist Attack New ‘Coincidence’?

At about the time I was writing yesterday’s blog post there was a deadly terrorist attack in France by a Sudanese immigrant, that is probably Islamist inspired. Using Nostradamus-supporters logic, they could be considered linked, as Nostradamus was French, and I was writing about Covid-19 taking the place of terrorism to make my nightmares come true!

Kill the Messenger!

My ‘negatives’ (many of them right-wing!) would probably blame me (kill the messenger!; as many have died in the name of witchery in the past – seriously discussed by me in support of the innocent in XaW Files: Beyond Humanity), but there were no visitors from France to this blog yesterday according to the statistics, so unless the attacker was unconsciously motivated by me (even though I didn’t want it!) it was another circumstantial coincidence.

My book sales don’t seem to suggest I have any influence at all, but my ‘negatives’ seem to think I’m all powerful!!

Nightmares Come True

More generally, and perhaps a possibility, I could link yesterday’s terrorist attack with the current big death count and empty streets from Covid-19 for my partly nightmarish doom-mongering over the last twenty years: which has completely changed my life and mindset.

It’s all interweaved with real events already taking place though, and that have taken place since, but on a smaller scale in the UK, bigger in Europe; since 9/11, which when I watched it after returning from university at about 10/11pm and seeing it on the news seemed like a nightmare materialising; an experience many are supposed to have shared; but I hadn’t had any thought of it happening before –  to look at the news on the computer I was using for example.

The Covid-19 death toll has made the IS attacks seem minor in comparison, and I thought would have demoralised their efforts to destroy Europe, but some of their supporters seem to feel the need to kill a few more!
