sun hugs southern horizon now for NORTHERN HEMISPHERE

#mYm20 philosophical thinking:

Seeing the sunrise and sunset now both in the southern sky, as in yesterday’s photos, I was thinking that in the northern hemisphere it is now like we’re looking back at the sun in our rear (north to south) as we might see a landmark travelling farther into the distance after we’ve passed it in a vehicle, and now it’s visible through the rear window.

In our ‘summer’ it’s as if we’re travelling towards a landmark, seeing it get closer and brighter in front of us (north to north) up until the ‘summer solstice’, when we ‘pass it’. It then starts receding into our ‘rear view mirror’ again, back down to the ‘southern horizon’.

If our planet wasn’t spinning around, giving us days and nights when we’re facing the sun or away from it, and we were on the side facing the sun, in a place where sunrise/sunset is always visible, we’d see its movement all the time; or our movement around it in reality; rather than mostly measuring its movement in sunrises and sunsets.

Hemisphere Seasons Reasons: Hemispheasons?!

As seen in this Planets Today orrery, Earth is now at 1 o’ clock on a normal clock face, with the northern hemisphere pointed towards deep space with our planet’s 23.4 axial tilt. That is why we have winter and less daylight. We are like a reclining human looking back down their body. In contrast Earth’s south is now directly facing the sun, giving it their summer.

In 6 months of ‘our time’ we’ll be at 7 o’ clock on a normal clock face, with our north facing the sun and where we are now at ‘1 o’ clock’. We will be like a reclining human facing the sun, while our planet’s south will be pointed out towards space, and they will be looking back over the Earth’s body to the sun.

Winter Cold/Hot Showers

When I started taking cold showers for the environment (energy and water use) two springs ago I’d turn the shower on twice, as I turned it off while I soaped.

I thought that was using up energy, so now I use cold water from the tap, via an old big plastic milk carton, to wet; then soap; and then turn the shower on to rinse: with hot water now in winter!

I think it’s also making me healthier and stronger (internally and mentally), in line with the Wim Hof method (no link or contact to me!), who’s furthered medical knowledge of humanity by experimenting on himself.

Vegan/Vegetarian

A vegan only cancels out themselves. If they bring one meat-eater into the country they cancel out their ‘good’. 2 meat-eaters and they cause twice as much meat-eating as a meat-eater who doesn’t support mass immigration! And so it goes up, 3, 5, 10, 100, 1000…

If I give up on green environmentalism it’ll be giving up on humanity and the planet, rather than what I think is right and good; if animals are just going to die by plastic/climate_change, then they might as well be eaten!

I’m still ‘just’ a vegetarian. Many have become vegans since I started, and many have stopped; many ‘influencers’, ‘writers’ and ‘journalists’ rewarded with big financial paydays for their brief soirees into non-meat eating! I salute the vegans who’ve stuck at it.

While ‘trendy vegans’ may have done animals a little good in their much publicised time, they’ve probably done more harm than good overall, as people will think the whole movement is ‘fake’ or ‘unhealthy’.

Especially if they’re flying around everywhere, and supporting open borders immigration!

Immigration and Environmental Destruction

There’s no good and evil about immigration, as some like to claim about those who want to restrict it; just different ways to look at a world that is massively overpopulated; and that is probably suffering environmental destruction and mass extinction because of it.

I consider myself indigenous to Britain and an environmentalist. In other countries those two go together, but in the UK and Europe they are usually on different sides of politics, with those who consider themselves ‘indigenous’ considered ‘nationalistic’ and ‘right-wing’, while environmentalists are usually on the left.

I know the ‘indigenous’ I’m referring to are usually in the minority, but ‘white Britons/Europeans’ are projected to be a minority in the near future… and especially if the left/Greens get their way and open up the borders!

We’re having a White Christmas Friday Charity Match at the greenYgrey, I’ve already given much more to charity than earned through royalties (or articles etc pay), but any sales of XaW Files until Christmas will be fully matched with extra charity donations, added to my regular ones to Guide Dogs, Dogs Trust and British Legion. I’m also a lifetime member of the Woodland Trust, offsetting book paper!

It was only after seeing the twelve sunrise photos after taking them and posting them here that I thought they looked like Andy Warhol’s original pop art, such as the soup cans screen print.

And after posting the whole blog post with Blondie’s Picture This I remembered there were also Debbie Harry screenprints done by Warhol

I didn’t think I’d see the sun yesterday, after a cloudy rain weather forecast, and it was only because the sunrise has now moved farther south, and I could see some pink clouds that I bothered turning the camera on!

That’s after I took a few on Friday; mistYmuse eve; when the forecast was for high pressure, and there’d been a sunny Thursday, but it was mostly cloudy:

On Friday there was a cloud gap on the horizon, showing the sunrise true position over the south of the city (much farther south than last month’s photos), while yesterday there was cloud on the horizon, so the photos were later, and over a more scenic treescape.

Now, the sunrise is returning to where I first noticed the PinkyOrangePurple colours of twilight times, and wrote of it as part of greenYgrey’s epic third and last ramble:

Sun diva star turned up for opening ceremony!

The British sun can be a bit of a diva star, so I didn’t know if it’d turn up for the mistYmuse (most ideal sunrise times – midwinter until spring equinox) 20/21 opening ceremony today, starting four months of sky fun (probably the longest festival in the world!?)… but it did!

fantasy writing food for thought

Fantasy and food creations are similar in that they are both built for presentation to the public. As food is usually a lot of tasty ingredients binding together some nutrition to a traditional recipe…fantasy is usually a lot of entertaining imagery binding together some philosophy to a traditional format!

This movie discusses how Joseph Campbell identified that global fantasy follows basic themes, with the golden buddha story at the start having relevance for the transformation of Greenygrey to greenYgrey:

winter solstice light clocks

Light clocks ideas using a world to a 12 hour clock face, basically divided by the north and south hemispheres. The original one has numbers around it, but going anti-clockwise, as the Earth goes around the sun. It has a 0-6 measurement.

However, then I thought that some light even gets to the poles in mid-winter, so I thought I’d use a 12 measurement system, with 3 the lowest rating.

I couldn’t see anything like it online, so is it original… and worth thinking about? Or has it been thought about, but not been considered worthy?

Planets race tonight and year

Jupiter and Saturn visibility has travelled across the southern sky over the year, westward from south-east to middle now: that’s because they’re on the ‘outside lane’ and we’re overtaking on the inside. In contrast to our year (365 days; time measurement created by humanity of course) orbit it takes Jupiter 11.86 years to orbit the sun, and Saturn 29.50, so they are not always seen close together like that; Jupiter will ‘race’ ahead of Saturn.

They also look like they’re travelling westwards each night, but that’s because of our planetary spin. In contrast, Venus is on our inside, taking only 224 ‘days’ to orbit the sun, so is racing ahead, looking as if it’s travelling eastward on our horizon over the year.

It was Galileo’s observations of the full planetary phases of Venus in 1610 that determined planets orbit the sun, rather than Earth.

Venus still looks as if it’s travelling west through the night though, because that’s defined by our planetary spin. As Jupiter lags behind us we see it earlier as our planet twists around anti-clockwise:

Jupiter 12.49 (November 5th) to 11.07 (December 5th)
As Venus races ahead, we see it later:
Venus 3.54 (November 5th) to 5.32 (December 5th)

Eventually, Venus will go out of sight behind the sun, reappearing in our evening as it catches up with us again. This year (2020), space.com writes Venus was in our: Evenings in the western sky at dusk from January 1st to May 24th; mornings in the eastern sky at dawn from June 13 to Dec. 31.

meghan markle ‘victim’ debunked

After spontaneously criticising Meghan and Harry’s ‘unconscious bias’ claim, I thought I’d follow it up with some evidence, and found the last sentence in this article’s #4 list section very relevant:

‘4. They will claim to be the victim.
Another part of a master manipulator’s arsenal is to turn the narrative on its head and claim that they are the actual victim. They will make their target feel as if they are in the wrong.’

So all critics of Meghan are in the wrong, because of our unconscious bias, and she was the victim of white UK, even though she was given everything on a plate (her wedding, charity patronage, luxury estate, Vogue cover etc), but was still determined to make it into a ‘race issue’ she could sell in Hollywood, after unveiling her child in South Africa with an anti-white-race veteran!
