Poetry in Motion Princess Kate Remembers What Made Her Great

I was disappointed Princess Kate seemed to have become a Calamity Kate recently, buying a shotgun as Britain goes weapons crazy!

Kate Returns to Form

So I was delighted to see Princess Kate return to great greenYgrey form on a visit to Blackpool recently (maybe tangerine would have been more fitting though?), sporting big green and grey, and a little yellow in the arrow symbol of her handbag and the umbrella handle.

So I wrote this Folding Mirror poem to celebrate, adapting it from a spontaneous poem that seeped down effortlessly from the unconscious, and that is included below the FM one.

Swapping Shotgun for Umbrella, Remembering gYg Princess Era

Princess Kate taking up shooting
was like a poisoned ↑
through my greenYgrey wolf ♥.
Seeing  symbol on handbag
like Y in disguise
deflated, like crushed umbrella.

is T a good umbrella symbol, between windy Y and deflated ↑

Thankfully, brolly she’s holding
in stormy Blackpool photo
sheltered her from rain.
One day when sunny again
Kate will consider birdsong celebrations
more important than dinner conversations.

The original poem posted on Facebook.

Princess Kate taking up shooting
was like a poisoned arrow
through my greenYgrey heart
but seeing the symbol on her handbag
I see it’s just like a Y in disguise
deflated like a storm-broken umbrella.

Thankfully, the brolly she’s holding
in the stormy Blackpool photo
sheltered her from the rain
and one day when the sun shines
Kate will consider birdsong celebrations
more important than dinner conversations.

AAW Autumn Special: Maths Fashion Football for Socrates Fans

Receiving a like from a lovely fashion blogger reminded me of Stacey Dooley’s investigation into the fashion industry. While there was a lot of bad news in the programme, I was delighted that fashion influencer, Niomi Price, was inspired to cut down on her consuming, and try to persuade her many followers; now I know where AAW hang out… instead of here!; to do the same. I’m glad to say the greenYgrey was right behind Niomi Price as she met Stacey Dooley to see the results of her investigation into fashion pollution:

Maybe Niomi Price can be the autumn AAW after Pernille Harder has done a great job since the summer, including knocking in a brace for Wolfsburg Women in the first leg of the European Cup quarter-final v Athletico Madrid:

Maths Mixed Up: Good for Socrates Followers

Hannah Fry’s documentary trilogy into Maths had a great greenYgrey introduction to the last quarter hour of the series:

Photosynthesis is dear to the greenYgrey heart, with the sight of sun meeting leaves one of my favourites in nature. But as a non-science (more nonsense!) doctor of philosophy I’m only just learning about it really, so was glad to see Prof. Olaya-Castro explaining that even she and top scientists don’t understand the process yet, and that it is more about quantum mechanics.

And good for Socrates followers like me, especially his assertion that the wisest people are those who know they know little, 2500 years after his life, Hannah Fry concluded that she thinks there are two scientific truths leading parallel lives in our world: the human maths such as Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, and the quantum mechanics world that is beyond it, and doesn’t behave as Einstein predicted.

While I disagree with the BBC a lot, they are the providers of most of my documentaries, although I think I have learnt a lot more about controversial theories (space and history) from other channels, such as Quest and Yesterday.

It is also a little hypocritical of me to criticise fashion while being a book writer, but I do and will try and cover it by contributing to charities such as the Woodland Trust. When I started the greenYgrey it was mainly for charitable reasons, although I didn’t want the pressure and responsibility of being a non-profit. The same still holds true, although there seems a neverending human tide of misery and pollution, and there doesn’t seem much hope of limiting it in the future… big new plans for more roads and housing in the south-east this morning isn’t going to help things!

Escape with the greenYgrey, and I’ll continue having my say, and to charity pay… the (Niomi) Price is right

Tour de France Le Grand Depart Coincidence

Last week we reported the Tour de France Le Grand Depart Le Grand Coincidence, with Yorkshire also using a yellow Y like the greenYgrey, and focusing on yellowing the greenYgrey Yorkshire countryside in celebration of the world’s longest cycling race starting in the English county of Wensleydale cheese and many a golden summer ale.

Hi, it’s Paco Wolfsang, satirical comedy fashionista apprentica with another sweetly soporific sorty into the world of greenYgrey fashion, packed with high season hues guaranteed to put a smile on your slacks.

The coincidences kept coming on the day of the race too you know, and one was of particular interest to the fashion department in the greenYgrey.

That was Princess Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, starting the official race at Harewood House with princes William and Harry in the greenygrey outfit made famous on this year’s Oz tour, where she visited many places made famous by Grey on its epic virtual ramble across all parts of Australia in Werewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Maps.

Umbrellas and Sunglasses

After a wet Friday afternoon and Saturday morning the thick clouds cleared by the time Le Grand Depart sent the 198 cyclists off on their epic Tour.

This made it a sunshine after the rain day in line with the Berri dance anthem adopted by the greenYgrey in May this year.

Glastonbury Fashion Satirical Comedy Review

While Glastonbury used to be the height of downdressing hippies, it is now a hip attraction for the top stars of music and fashion… and greenYgreying. So it was of course the place to be on the weekend for a satirical comedy report from the greenYgrey’s fashionista suprema.

Glastonbury Fashion Highlights

Unfortunately, Stella Lagerwolf-Bruno, fashionista suprema at the greenYgrey, is still over in Brazil reporting from World Cup 2014. So they sent ol’ Paco Wolfsang, satirical comedy fashionista apprentica at the greenYgrey inspired by Paco Rabanne, down to the Glastonbury mud.

I didn’t fancy that, so I just went over to the msn website to get you some photos.

Celebrities at Glastonbury

It’s a shame Stella L-B wasn’t in the country, and the Somerset countryside to be precise, because she could finally have met her main inspiration, Stella McCartney.

Stella McC was in great greenYgreying form at Glastonbury. A grey handbag and green wellies combine well with background sunshine (or cup for a team greenYgrey) for a great greenYgrey combo:

Festival-goers at Glastonbury 2014

Prince Harry‘s onyoffy gf Cressida Bonas also used sunshine and a drink accessory to provide the Yellow with a green and grey bag on her grey hoody shoulder… looking every bit a greenYgrey princess:

Rita Ora preferred to put the greenYgrey above and behind her; combining hair, fence and vegetation; while wearing something brighter:

Laura Whitmore combined multiple amounts of foreground and background greenYgrey in this perfectypose:

greenYgreying is of course also a team fashion temptation, and these two women, a tree and a tent provided a great greenYgrey three… or four:

Kate Ends Royal NZ and Australia Tour Going Solo

There’s no doubt that Kate and William’s three-week tour royal tour of New Zealand and Australia has helped rekindle memories of Grey’s solo Oz ramble, while also raising a-were-ness of the greenYgrey’s new three-way rebranding.

Duchess of Cambridge Solo GGing Extravaganza

Hi, it’s Stella Lagerwolf-Bruno, satirical comedy fashionista suprema at the Greenygrey, inspired by Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, Bruno and wolves.

The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, and Duchess of Cambridge, Kate, impressed with a synchronised greenygreying in the arid red middle of Australia earlier in the week, having ventured out without any green of their own.

evabreuerartdealer.com.au/artists/james-cant/james-cant-1911-1982/the-new-moon

The Royal tour ended with Kate going solo, showing she has matured into an expert greenygreyer in her own right.

In one pose (shown and showing below) it even seemed as if she was taking greenygreying in a new surreal direction, perhaps influenced by Australian surrealists such as James Cant.

Grey of course had a berry good time in Canberra on its epic ramble, and although there were no berries in sight, Kate did do the double when helping plant a tree.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a stunning green dress and grey shoes, and did the double by mix and matching them with a partially green bush and partially grey shovel.

Surreal Greenygreying by Kate

Did Kate find out she can berry in Canberra, like Grey did; or was she creating a surreal greenygreying photo to shake up a greenygreying art craze that some critics consider to have gone stale? That was the greenygreying question inspired by this creation:

Kate spoke with girl guides and boy scouts and then ventured inside a giant replica bunya nut in the Pod Playground at the Arboretum
dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2611805/Kate-William-arrive-Canberra.html

We may have to wait some time to find out the answer, but there’s no doubt that whether it was a greenygreying accident or genius, Kate has certainly shaken up the greenygreying world Down Under.

Fashion World Royalty Follows greenYgrey Rebranding

The fashion world loves the new greenYgrey rebranding so much that yellow is THE colour of the 2014 spring in the northern hemisphere. So much so, that the Duchess of Cambridge (Princess Kate / Catherine) is still wearing it Down Under in Oz, where Grey made its epic ramble, and where the season is now Australiumn.

Spring Fashion Report

Hi, it’s Stella Lagerwolf-Bruno, satirical comedy fashion correspondent at the Greenygrey inspired by Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, Bruno and wolves. Yes, as MSN Lifestyle reported, ‘Yellow is the shade of the season, as worn by the Duchess of Cambridge and other high-profile women… Lupita Nyong’o (AKA fashion’s girl of the moment) and the Hollywood star Kate Hudson.’

Kate Humble By Nature, Greenygrey by Design

Hi, it’s Wolf Whitzer with a Greenygrey News (GGN) newsflash, in the style of Wolf Blitzer on CNN. For readers tuning in hoping for the first weekly episode of Werewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Maps, as we reach that midweek time of the week, we had hoped to bring it to you this morning, but this great greenygreying story took precedence. We hope to bring it to you tomorrow.

Kate Humble By Nature

In front of a great greenygrey backdrop Kate Humble talked about her fascinating sounding new book Humble By Nature and doing lots of good nature and charity deeds in Britain and around the world in a great greenygrey top.

Humble By Nature Farm

Being the intrepid newshound you all know and love, I looked for a link to Kate Humble’s book, and found the website for the Humble By Nature farm Kate runs with her even more humble husband Ludo Graham.

I think the coolly named sounding game Ludo is even more humble than Kate, as it is only Kate on the website header; but she no doubt looks more photogenic, being a nice looking female… in greenygrey:

Charlie Stayt Greenygreying

Charlie Stayt showed that greenygrey fashion is unisex, and looks good casual or formal, by mirroring Kate on the other sofa wearing a smart dark grey suit and olive green tie.

Susanna Reid didn’t get into the greenygreying spirit this morning to provide a greenygreying hat-trick, but perhaps a double is more apt for the Greenygrey.

Great and Powerful Women Wear Greenygrey

Hi, it’s Paco Wolfsang, with a greenygrey comedy-satire fashion round-up. Stella Lagerwolf-Bruno is out covering some big bash somewhere.

London Fashion Week Comedy Satire Clothes Highlights

Hi, it’s Stella Lagerwolf-Bruno, rounding off the London Fashion Week greenygrey comedy – satire clothes highlights, after the amazing accessories blog earlier in the week.
Lucas Nascimento Friday Finery
Lucas Nascimento (any relation to Pele?) rounded off the greenygrey with a nice little number on Friday:

To be honest, it was such a whirlwind week I thought that was the only greenygrey outfit until I looked at my notes (editor’s note: realised I was only looking at Friday’s highlights!).
Antipodium and House of Holland
Looking back through the week I saw there were several great greenygrey outfits. House of Holland had one or two:
HouseOfHolland
But it was Antipodium on Day 2 that stole the greenygrey show, with several great greenygrey delights:

Following on from yesterday’s blog, and our Grey’s wonderful Werewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Maps book crossing dusty sandy paths with the awesome Oz: the Great and Powerful, there’s also an Australian dog connection. The designer, Geoffrey J. Finch (not a bird), has an Australian background, and his future plans are for ‘downward dogging’.
Meant in the best possible taste we’re sure.
Working backwards, we hope to bring you the spring/summer collection greenygrey highlights soon…

London Fashion Week Greenygrey Highlights

Hi, it’s Stella LagerwolfBruno, fashion correspondent at the Greenygrey. The Greenygrey took the Greenygrey fashion team down to the London Fashion Show last week, and it was great to rub shoulders with today’s leading fashionistas, such as Ga Ga, GG and RiRi. Moreover, the Felder-Felder twins put on a fantastic FF impersonation of GG.

Reading too much into this photo, and trying to twist everything to fit into a greenygrey theme, we believe they used black and white to keep the true greenygrey message under the surface, where only greenygrey connoisseurs will be able to deconstruct the intended depths… of satire we were born.

Anya Hindmarch 2013 Collection

While I checked out the clothes, I sent Paco Wolfsang over to have a look at the accessories. He brought back a video and photos of a great Anya Hindmarch greenygrey display and collection.

The video is available on the London Fashion Show website, and here’s a couple of highlights from the handbags-dominoes display (we hope no Greenygreys were hurt in the making of the handbags, and especially the Stella ethical consumer in me!):
