Eco-Tuesday Interview

Thanks to Willow Croft for arranging and conducting an eco interview with me. Great to reminisce about environment, travelling and writing with someone I feel is on the same wavelength on those topics; and dredge up some memories of writers and creations that influenced me, from somewhere in my memory!

fantasy writing food for thought

Fantasy and food creations are similar in that they are both built for presentation to the public. As food is usually a lot of tasty ingredients binding together some nutrition to a traditional recipe…fantasy is usually a lot of entertaining imagery binding together some philosophy to a traditional format!

This movie discusses how Joseph Campbell identified that global fantasy follows basic themes, with the golden buddha story at the start having relevance for the transformation of Greenygrey to greenYgrey:

With relevance to the above, when I started reading for my PhD in 2000 I got side-tracked; my supervisors decided; by structuralism and semiotics, started with Saussure’s langue and parole:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Langue_and_parole

15 years later I think this book made it all worthwhile, ending my ‘fantasy journey’:

nordic blonde women special

Nordic blonde women’s role in the greenYgrey; which ended in Scandinavia; were as guides to the POP (PinkyOrangePurple), like runway lights guide planes to the sky:

The above is the explanation of an epic tale that ended four years ago. For those who think I’m just trying to target Nordic blondes with advertising, well, amongst all the advertising and influencing around; with most of it anti-white; this is nothing; and it’s more about correcting all the crap and counter claims made by those who wanted it to fail.

At the time my ideology was one of colour blind freedom of speech, following the Scandinavian example of equality and tolerance.

my work on 8 Out of 10 Cats… missing link?!

After I re-re-adapted the goldilocks story space had used for habitable planets to romance on my greenYgrey blog I recently saw Phil Wang use it on the 8 OUT OF 10 CATS! comedy panel show (repeat from January this year, available on Channel 4 in the UK).
Had he heard of it from me, either directly or indirectly; or is it just a coincidence?

Missing Link greenYgrey Missing Link?

Seeing my joke on TV reminded me of thinking the Missing Link movie had a lot of greenYgrey’s rambles similarities: with it being a sasquatch rather than werewolf!

It also started in British Columbia (on Blogspot) and had a searching for self-knowledge across the world theme, with the greenYgrey total amnesia, and Link for family. It also seems to have a class and anti-hunting theme (I haven’t seen it), as the greenYgrey did at the time; before Meghan Markle arrived and complicated everything, making me value tradition and stability much more!

Although it was American made (by Laika) the writer and many actors were British: the kind of people in line with my green left side, such as Walliams, Fry and Lucas!

I also found an eerie coincidence when I looked up Laika, as they also made Corpse Bride; and I said that’s what Meghan Markle (her portrayed ‘vulnerable victim’ image) reminded me of when she got married to Harry on my travel25years blog; only in February last year! Seems a lot longer!!

The writer, Chris Butler, says he grew up on such stories though, and the greenYgrey was similarly a combination of old themes, so it’s probably all a coincidence!

Frankie Goes to Hollywood Beat Journey Next Move for Frank Skinner?

After Frank Skinner’s beat poetry podcast maybe another programme could see him retrace the Beat journey to California, and be called Frankie Goes to Hollywood after the 1980s pop group!

GGF II?

If it included greenYgrey (and Frank: Road Trip), it could also be the new Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip (just done USA!), with GGF capitals!

New Scooby Doo?

They could also do Scooby Doo, with Frank’s scruffy look and zany personality ideal to play Shaggy!?

Until then, there’s always the greenYgrey trilogy!

Nostradamus and Me: Beyond Humanity!

Like Nostradamus, I think my writing includes a lot that could be considered prophetic for the current Covid-19 pandemic. There was a theme of self-isolation and distancing towards the end of the greenYgrey era, culminating with the apocalyptical ending, and title ‘Beyond Humanity’. It was a general feeling though, combining terrorism and overpopulation, rather than a clear sighting.

I didn’t see the extent of it in Europe and the USA even when it was making its away across from China. The first reports of hundreds of deaths per day in Italy were a big shock!

Circumstantial Coincidences?

When I posted a link to a previous post containing reference to my Children of the Quorn (Children of the Corn parody that preceded the emergence of Greta Thunberg and the school strike movement – I don’t know if she was inspired by it though!?) last week the blog post was mostly about criticising Ozzy for selling a toy celebrating him biting the head off a bat; the coronavirus is thought to have originated in bats, before getting into the food chain in Wuhan.

When I looked for the first mention of mistYmuse on this site (inspired by the end of mistYmuse 2019/20, and my mapping of my horizon posts this week) this morning the unrelated 2018 post’s main photo is of Gwyneth Paltrow, star of Contagion, a disaster movie that gives a much clearer prediction of the Covid crisis: starting in China from a bat. Director Steven Soderbergh said that making the movie made him think a real pandemic was only a matter of time!

Over the last couple of years I also watched the Ancient Aliens episode on plagues and epidemics, also from 2011, and also saying another pandemic was due. It focused on how the Fatima sighting (generally claimed as sun/religious [Wikipedia], but they think could have been a UFO) had preceded the Spanish Flu pandemic a century ago. It thinks aliens use pandemics to control the human population. I think that’s a slim possibility, but lets humanity off the hook; as blaming higher powers such as gods too.

Modern Shamen or Creative Thinker?

I have had a lot of sights, thoughts and dreams that I think could be considered prophetic, but they are all unproveable, and most people probably have them too, and if they predict disaster they aren’t usually acted upon anyway (as the current crisis shows, governments and workers are reluctant to stop the economy/travel even when disasters are happening !) so there’s no point claiming them… kind of like the vague muddled messages I saw people describing in the ‘Mothman Prophecies‘ movie about the  Point Pleasant bridge collapse.

There is one bit of data that does back up my claim that I had some kind of transcendental thoughts during the writing of XaW Files: Beyond Humanity: I had by far my best Fantasy Football Season (it was also the season Leicester totally upset the odds by winning the real Premier League, which was probably a factor?.. and probably not connected?.. as I hope the chairman’s later helicopter crash outside their ground wasn’t!).

XaW Files: Beyond Humanity

So I think XaW Files should only be bought as a brilliant book of fiction with deep thinking writer insights, but as Neil Young said about his songs, he doesn’t write them, he just writes them down; I haven’t felt like writing fiction much since, but have written a couple of short stories!

Do I think I’m as good as most of the ‘Western shamen’ making money out of it: probably, yes.
Do I think I’m as good as adult-lifelong religious shamen and meditators: probably, not.

Do I want to think myself special: Yes
Do I want to be blamed for disasters: No

So if I can’t stop disasters, and am just going to be called a charlatan, I’ll stick to just being a writer and poet; and I still believe in my work… and that it’s been criminally overlooked… but if you’ve read it, as more people seem to do than sales show… then that’s something for me.

Now, I think I’m best suited to little poetic philosophy snippets that I freely post in spontaneous prose on Facebook!

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Parody Comedy Worked For Me!

Goop products have worked for me, Dr. Marc Latham. My hair was balding and greying until using Goop, and now look at me:

Self-Parody Hilarity

No, the above is an example of my brilliant self-parody comedy, that went over the heads of most people most of my life, making me seem boastful or deluded, rather than a comedy genius along the lines of Peter Sellers or Tommy Cooper.

Sorry if I built your hopes up about Goop, and that is really Gwyneth Paltrow in the photo.

Critical Writer of PhD Standard

This is also an example of greenYgreyism at its most intricate, and admittedly confusing to the average person, who believes in supporting who they like without criticism, and doing the opposite with those they don’t.

While I like Gwyneth Paltrow’s look and healthy living attitude, and generally think she’s doing good, the article I saw this morning that inspired this blog is a negative one, after Goop was criticised for making misleading advertising claims.

I think the main lesson this teaches is the danger of companies becoming too big and profit driven, with targets etc taking over from the original good intentions.

Great greenYgrey

That’s one reason why I kept the greenYgrey to me only: so I could control it to its original intentions, and not let it be turned into something it wasn’t.

It doesn’t seem to have done me much good though, and those who were unethical, like Russell Brand, were rewarded by mainstream society and the ‘counter-culture’ that’s supposed to be rebelling against it!

Hopefully some of the greenYgrey messages got through in the end, but I don’t know if it was the greenYgrey or just other factors. That era, started by New Labour, is over now, and some of those problems have been made better… but others have surfaced… like the human ‘fault lines’ reminiscent of geological ones I wrote a poem about on this site over six years ago.

Political Opportunity Missed

I think if New Labour had kept immigration under control and turned Blighty into a nice green environmental country reminiscent of Scandinavian ones most of the problems we’ve been struggling against this century wouldn’t have happened.

Yet our leaders continue to think we must have some mission, and make life difficult for everyone; that when things seem nice and quiet we need another challenge, either challenging the ‘bad guys’ abroad or letting in millions to the country.

Do they not realise that they are allied to ‘bad guys’, such as Saudi Arabia, and that there are a lot of ‘bad guys’ coming into the country… including our elite schools and universities, where many of the world’s dictators have studied… and looked down at people like me!

On the other side we have the far left wanting to change everything, which will mean another five or ten years of upheaval and discord; just to take the country back to the previous century! I don’t want fascism, but they don’t make democracy look good!

Countdown Letters and Numbers Expert Guests

Hi, it’s Wachel Wiley-Coyote, foxy WereWolf letters and numbers expert on Countdown to the Full Moon. My esteemed colleague, Susie Dentinfang, has asked me to guest for her today, as she is still recovering from Laurelgate, and would prefer to remain in the background researching.

Advantages of Analysing Yourself

Today, we’re analysing the Greenygrey; which we’re pretty sure we know, and will be the first to do; therefore avoiding any double meanings, and bypassing the need for a peer review.

On Countdown to the Full Moon I’m the Queen of numbers and letters, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to take a close look at the construction of the Greenygrey.

Groundbreaking Greenygrey Research Shock Finding

With all the references to GG on Greenygrey blogs my hypothesis before beginning my research was that G would be the most common letter in the Greenygrey.

G
G (Photo credit: chrisinplymouth)

I was therefore shocked and thrilled at the end of my quantitative research to find that E is in fact the most common letter in Greenygrey.

E occurs three times in the Greenygrey, while there are only two Gs; although they are of course prominently placed. There are also two Rs and Ys. One N completes the Greenygrey.

Consonants and Vowels

With E being the most common letter in the Greenygrey you might think that there are more vowels (a,e,i, o, u) than consonants (the other 21 letters).

However, E is in fact the only vowel. That means there are only three vowels, and seven consonants.

Letter Prominence Number Values

E is the most common letter in the Greenygrey, and is also the highest scoring if the letters are awarded values according to their placing in the word: i.e. if the first letter (G) is awarded 10 points, and the last letter (Y) 1.

With 55 points to play for, E gets 17 points for a third place (8), fourth (7) and ninth (2).

G gets 14 points for a first place (10) and seventh (4).

R gets 12 for a second (9) and eighth (3).

Y gets 6 points for sixth (5) and tenth (1); the same as N for its fifth place (6).

So, the only surprise in these prominence results after the quantitative research is that N equals Y despite having only one inclusion in the Greenygrey; whereas Y has two.

Conclusion: Time for Greenygrey Rebranding?

My main finding was that E seems a more important letter to the Greenygrey than G. That leads me to question whether GG, or G2, should be rebranded as EEE or E3?

That decision is thankfully outside my area of expertise, and my mission will finish when I deliver my results to the Greenygrey and You.

Greenygrey back as One after Werewolf of Oz Published

Hi, it’s the Greenygrey. Yes, that’s right, we’re back together. And for spring too, after we enjoyed a sunny equinox yesterday.

Y?

Y, you may ask. Well, we thought that Grey publishing its epic Werewolf of Oz ozyssey on Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com yesterday concluded its quest to survive Oz and return home to other half Green, and the time was right for us to join together as one big werewolf again.

Talking of Y. You might have seen that at the front of the book (there is a free web preview on Amazon.com) our conjoining y has been declared:

the 3-D tree of growth, thought and knowledge at the heart of the
greenYgrey

It is a massive promotion for our y, as when it first joined us it was a bit of a joke, with ‘greeny’ slang for a bogey or snot (stuff up your nose); so the y was the tail-end of snot basically.

But now it has grown into a great tree at the heart of us, symbolising the three-dimensional: thought and questioning to acquire knowledge. And that is hopefully the type of journey we are on at the Greenygrey, and what Grey experienced on its epic ozyssey as the Werewolf of Oz.

P.S. There are some free Word docx files from the book to download on the Greenygrey website home (rock music time-travel tale) and biography (two poems) pages.
