new deep mind small poems

Here’s five small poems I posted on Facebook. The first two followed on from last week’s Mazzy Star musing; the third was mused by Annicke Shireen’s Release You song/video, and the last two today were just because I was posting this, and had just had a nap; so thought I may be able to dive down into my mind and stay down long enough to fill up a Facebook word limit for a colourful background!

Last week

Sinking so deep into sky, birds imagine I fly by,
showing me thermals, where a mind can rise,
tipping a wing, future will bring…

Wake up to wind down, slumberous sea,
floating flotsam, jetstreaming jetsam,
diving deep as can be,
seeking poetic pearls of wisdom..

All that die↓, Earth body returned;
All that fly↑, Sky spirit freed;
All that why?, Mind used as should be.

Today

Only dare dive deep, with head full of sleep,
coral’s bleaching, still reaching,
for those that fit; or have wit; reversing it ←

Traverse to surface, sunshine reimburses serotonin, half-baked drying thoughts on rocks;
seagulls steal shiniest, leaving least!

Werewolf of Oz Body, Spirit and Mind

The body, mind and spirit of the Werewolf of Oz: Fantasy Travel by Google Maps reacted quickly to the disappointment of the Grand Dame in the last episode, and in today’s third from last chapter in the book, they receive confirmation that they do not need any additional help: they already have the qualities they feel they lack.

At the end of the Wizard of Oz, the scatty Scarecrow receives a diploma after searching for a brain, the cowardly Lion gets a medal for courage and the Tin Man has a pocket watch after looking for a heart.

In this episode of the Werewolf of Oz Elle, Angry and Cathy are told by the Good Witch of the story, Mildly Monotheistic Moby, that they have restored all the body, mind and spirit they’ll need.

The Greenygrey world had been taken over by the Grand Council at the start of the book, but had been liberated by the end, and this is referred to at the end of this chapter/episode. The ending of this episode also throws a cat among the pigeons; or hat among the Werewolf of Ozzers in this case.

Chapter 140.  Moby tells it as it is, Which is…

We were about to leave, when a porcelain pod came around the corner, and MiMo Moby emerged from it. We were ecstatic, and greeted him with gusto; he seemed equally pleased to see us.

I told him the Dame had been a disappointment, so Angry, Cathy and Elle were uncertain of their future in Oz, and I didn’t know if I could return to the Greenygrey world.

MiMo looked at us all, and then back at Elle, before saying, ‘Why, Elle had body issues when she joined you; she had lost all her strength. But she has been using her body with great dexterity throughout the Ozyssey, and now has her confidence back.’

I had to agree. Elle leapt into the air with joy.

‘And Angry was letting the Neighbours’ opinions of his mind get to him; making him feel inadequate. But he has been using fantastic judgement all through the epic adventure, and working well within your travel team.’

Once more, I had to agree. Angry sang a celebratory tune he spontaneously created.

‘And Cathy was in low spirits when you met; but freedom, movement, natural space, friendship, being valued and success have helped lift her spirits since joining your epic adventure; and also raised yours at crucial times in this rousing ramble.’

Yet again, I had to agree. Cathy saluted the sun.

‘And you, Grey, you have reached your destination, and helped bring the hats of hope home to Emerald. Deep down you know you have the power to return to Green whenever you want. The Greenygrey world is free again; as free as Emerald.’

I thanked MiMo Moby for everything, and we all said hearty farewells before he disappeared around the corner in his porcelain pod. Not long after, Brian arrived from the same direction.

Bear Grylls and Stephen Fry in Dolomites

Hi, it’s Harry Silhouetteof-Wolfhowlingonhill, once again catching up with the great greenygrey television selection from the festive period.

Bear’s Wild Weekends

Like the Thirteenth Tale film featured in yesterday’s BBC highlights blog, there was a glut of greenygrey in Channel Four‘s Bear’s Wild Weekends shown on Christmas Day. scan0013

And linking with Sunday’s Everest view blog, Marc Latham has also hiked in the Dolomites.

Bear Grylls and Stephen Fry in the Dolomites Documentary

In the programme, outdoors expert Bear Grylls took indoors expert Stephen Fry out of his comfort zone and into the Dolomites.

Moreover, there was a body, mind and spirit theme to the documentary, like in the Werewolf of Oz. The two of them discussed that topic, as well as Stephen Fry’s bipolar disorder, after Fry said he’d never felt so alive.

Everybody can see an example of the greenygrey mountains, waterfalls, trees and fields in clips on the Channel Four website. This is one’s cover shot:

The whole documentary is available to watch on Channel Four (only in U.K. I think) for another seventeen days.

Disclaimer: Stephen Fry was accompanied by an expert, so please don’t go climbing down mountains on your own.

How to Win Olympic Gold Medals: the Greenygrey Verdict

Howldy do, it’s Martin ‘Werewolfie’ Adams, still enjoying my reporting stint at Olympics 2012. I’ve been so caught up in all the action that I missed another gold for Team GG. Shelley Ann Fraser-Pryce won the women’s 100 metres to give Team GG a third gold medal; well, in fact it was the second one, as it was before Usain Bolt won the men’s 100 metres. Here’s Shelly enjoying the victory in greenygrey:

Golds in Greenygrey Conditions

On August 2nd I wondered if Team GB had won gold in the rowing and not in the swimming because of the greenygrey environment of the former, and a distinct lack of greenygrey in the aquatic centre.

After that, there were further Team GB golds in other greenygrey conditions, such as Baillie and Stott in the canoeing and the athletics team’s treble gold in an hour on Saturday night.

Then Andy Murray embraced the Greenygrey after victory at Wimbledon, and Ben Ainslie won gold in front of the Greenygrey.

And then the Brownlees won gold and bronze in very greenygrey Hyde Park.

So it all looked good for the Greenygrey being the secret ingredient for Team GB’s gold rush.

Golds Won Beyond the Greenygrey

From those examples we could probably exaggerate the Greenygrey’s worth, but we believe in giving you the full story, and cannot hide the fact that Team GB won seven golds in the cycling velodrome without a hint of greenygrey on display, so the theory seems to have been disproved.

Although it seems that the greenygrey can be beneficial for training, providing a nicer environment and thus more motivation to get out there, it doesn’t seem to be essential for gold success in competitions. Therefore, Team GB swimming probably wouldn’t have won any golds even if there had been a greenygrey environment around the pool. They did very well anyway.

Instead, competing well and winning seem to be mostly down to body, mind and spirit, which just happens to be the theme of Grey’s amazing comedy-fantasy epic classic marathon virtual trek around Oz book, Werewolf of Oz: Fantasty Travel by Google Maps.

Creative Chaos Blog Award

I’d like to thank Jennifer over at the step-on-a-crack blog for nominating this blog for a Creative Chaos award. There are a few tasks involved:
1.  You must tell 3 completely weird things about your habits.  If you claim to have no weird habits, you’re lying and we’ll have to send an investigative team for further analysis.
2.  You must tell why you look at the “glass half full” scenario and ask “what? No coffee?”
3.  Complete one the following essay questions:  A.  You find yourself in a desolate place when your car breaks down.  You have no cellphone service, no Walmart (I know, GASP, right?), and only a candy bar for food.  It is 150 miles to the closest town.  What color are your pants and why?  B.  You find yourself having to ride an elevator quite frequently.  How do you pass the time to show off your creativity?
4. Then you are to nominate 5 random people.
5. Make sure to show proper gratitude to the person who nominated you whether that is to shower them with gifts, prizes, and cash or to see that they are put into a clown costume and photographed for internet mocking.
6.  Make sure to post the award somewhere other than the underside of the toilet seat.
Here goes on mine:

Task 1.

  1. I zigzag while running through trees hoping it’ll sharpen my body, mind and spirit. Awaken me.
  2. Sometimes I pretend I’m a wolf while running.
  3. I write as a vegetarian werewolf on the Greenygrey website.
Task 2:

I usually have a couple of big full mugs of strong coffee in the morning, and it helps lift off my writing day. So a glass half full of something else in the morning would make me worry “what? No coffee? Not ideal for a long morning of writing!”

Task 3: You find yourself in a desolate place when your car breaks down. You have no cellphone service, no Walmart, and only a candy bar for food. It is 150 miles to the closest town. What color are your pants and why?

They’re sandy, because I’m in the desert, and my pants can chameleonise.

Task 4:

My nominations are:

  1. http://www.bobscotney.blogspot.co.uk/
  2. http://travelthroughhistory.blogspot.co.uk/
  3. http://tigergroves.wordpress.com/
  4. http://carolinegillpoetry.blogspot.co.uk/
  5. http://lesleycarter.wordpress.com/
Tasks 5 and 6 have been completed with the writing of this blog, so that’s it. Thanks again to Jennifer, good luck to all the deserving nominees, and thanks for reading.

Body, Mind and Spirit raised by Mildly Monotheistic Moby

Hi, it’s Grey. My 140th of 142 Werewolf of Oz blogs has just arrived in the Greenygrey world, so I thought I’d post it here straight away, as it’s quite big, it’s getting so exciting and there’s not much left to wait for. But that’s not to say there’s nothing left to wait for. Do you remember the commotion in the Tasman Sea I kept seeing and hearing. Well, I found out about that before I left Oz…

Here’s the latest episode, which perked up our spirits after the Great Dame didn’t deliver.

Early Underground

Moby tells it as it is, Which is…

We were about to leave, when a porcelain pod came around the corner, and MiMo Moby emerged from it. We were ecstatic, and greeted him with gusto; he seemed equally pleased to see us.

I told him the Dame had been a disappointment, so Angry, Cathy and Elle were uncertain of their future in Oz, and I didn’t know if I could return to the Greenygrey world.

‘And Angry was letting the Neighbours’ opinions of his mind get to him; making him feel inadequate. But he has been using fantastic judgement all through the epic adventure, and working well within your travel team.’

I thanked MiMo Moby for everything, and we all said hearty farewells before he disappeared around the corner in his porcelain pod. Not long after, Brian arrived from the same direction.
