Poem from animal state of mind

Time stood still seeing the dawn Sun
wearing a flock of birds encrusted
crepuscular necklace
created by its own light and nature

I wrote the above poem before seeing those ‘magical’ moments when our minds transcend the mundanity of modern life in a Weird or What feature on that brain wavelength connecting us to animals.

Copied from Facebook:

Lot of info about dog and cat senses compared to humans in this story about whether they can sense illness etc.
A Salem witch also provides an alternative viewpoint of the zone/hypnagogic state I have enjoyed being in while exercising, writing, socialising etc but hadn’t heard before:
Laurie Cabot said our minds align with animals when we’re in that middle daydreaming state between sleep and thought where animals are most of the time.
William Shatner calls that state the alpha, with delta: sleep and beta: alert.

It’s also the place where I write the best of what I call coffilosophy here.

I originally saw it on the Blaze channel.

Last night, a few days after writing it, but probably long after they filmed it, I saw a Countryfile feature on diving with seals on the BBC describe exactly that: how time seems to stand still in those precious moments.

Weird or What!?

WRITER MIND RECOLLECTIONS

Diving deep into brain
to reach the artistic
melancholy mind
is like riding rapids
through a harsh environment
to an oasis.

sleep celebrates silence,
space irons out lumps…
wake to human news,
return to writing
after music soothes

My books have investigated the writer mind (mining mine!) more than anyone I know, and the above are more in tow!
