Satirical Comedy Mary Anning Google Celebration

While Greenygrey/greenYgrey history is relatively new in the human world, the search for the origin of species is gathering pace. No, I don’t mean the world’s largest known dinosaur discovered in Argentina, after roaming a very different planet Earth about 100 million years ago.

Google Celebrates Mary Anning

Hi, it’s Tony Loboinson, satirical comedy archaeological correspondent at the greenYgrey inspired by Tony Robinson in the human world. I was unexpectedly called into the greenYgrey office this morning after our search team made a great discovery on Google:

google fossil greenygrey

The image bears all the hallmarks of an early greenYgrey, with grey growing in the dinosaur fossil, and green above and below it. There is even an early splash of yellow representing the Y.

One branch of greenYgreyologists are even claiming the image shows that boomeranging was popular then, with the human definitely seeming to be enjoying boomeranging, while the dinosaur might be boomeranging with one arm hidden, lost or not drawn yet.

Painting of Mary Anning made after her death, ...

The Google image celebrates paleontologist fossil hunter Mary Anning, who was born on this date in 1799.

Perhaps her most important find, and the greenYgrey’s favourite, was the first ichthyosaur skeleton correctly identified.

New Dinosaur Found in China Comedy Satire

The world was already greenygrey when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, according to the photo depicting the newly discovered Qianzhousaurus sinensis (right) in a Daniella Graham Metro article (Wednesday May 7th).

Meet Pinocchio rex, T.rex's fearsome relative

Hi, it’s Chris Packwolf, satirical comedy nature correspondent at the Greenygrey inspired by Chris Packham in the human world. Yes, this could be an important discovery in the search for the Greenygrey’s origin of species.

The dinosaur’s bones were found in China, and it has been nicknamed Pinocchio Rex due to its large nose.

Dinosaurs’ Modern Relatives

The modern greenYgrey world isn’t so different, as shown by this photo of frogs posted on Google+ by Kurt Stocker:

This one of green and grey lizards in greenYgrey nature posted on Google+ by Mario Nahum is delightfully dinosaurish too:

Alice in Chains Devil Put Dinosaurs Here Message

Hi, it’s Howlin’ Werewolf, music correspondent at the Greenygrey inspired by Howlin’ Wolf. While I talked more about the old Alice in Chains in our poetry and prose yesterday, the new Alice in Chains have also featured on this very blog.

Devil Put Dinosaurs Here

In September our blog agreed with Alice in Chains in contesting the kind of Creationist thinking that considers the Earth only a few thousand years old.

Some of the Creationists now accept that dinosaurs were real, but argue that they lived within the few thousand years that they think the Earth has been in existence.

I don’t know if any Creationists think the Devil created dinosaurs. I think Alice in Chains are taking artistic license to be sarcastic and make a point.

Alice in Chains Music Message

A point and style we agree with at the Greenygrey, inspired by the artistic license of Andy Wolfhol.

Here’s the Alice in Chains part of that September 2013 blog, with a link to the blog at the end.

Religion Should Be Personal, and By Choice

At the Greenygrey we think religion should be personal, and the Middle-East monotheists should allow Britain and Europe to continue developing in an intelligent informed scientific secular way to how it has been over the last century.

Alice in Chains seem to want this too, from their new single and video The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, which also first came to our attention on Planet Rock News. It criticises television evangelists for misleading; and profiting from their deception. It’s now available on YouTube, and is embedded here:
