National Lottery Olympics 2012 Anniversary Run and Ashes

Hi, it’s Martin ‘Werewolfie’ Adams, comedy satire sports correspondent at the Greenygrey. After I’ve had a quiet summer compared to last year, I was awoken into action this morning by the National Lottery Olympics Anniversary Run featured on the Andrew Marr Show.

I then remembered this summer’s Ashes, Arishes, Oz Lions series and Murray winning Wimbledon (the Wombles told us they have finally cleaned up all the mess!).

Olympics 2012 Greenygrey Games

Olympics 2012 has fondly become known as the Greenygrey Games in the Greenygrey world, or 3G-2012 for short. So it was fitting this morning that one of the heroines in London last year, Victoria Pendleton, joined Team GG for this morning’s anniversary run:

Yep, it is now a year since I was so overworked and rightly overexcited!

Ashes Cricket Series Reminder of AusRuIcket Arishes

While last year was an amazing summer of sport in Blighty, this year’s has been pretty good too. A couple of greenygrey highlights were the thrilling Lions (Wollions for those reading this in the Greenygrey world) series win in Oz and Murray winning at greenygrey Wimbledon.

Now, the Ashes cricket series between Blighty and Oz is reminding us of the AusRuIcket Bonzo’s bagpipes Arishes played for by little penguins on Kangaroo Island since the Wereweolf of Ozzers visited there; immortalised in the epic comedy satire classic you all know and mixed-up vole now.

It was a thrilling first Ashes test, and Blighty looks to have the second test sown up to take a 2-0 series lead. We haven’t found much greenygrey action at the cricket, but then again, we haven’t been looking very closely.

Finally, we’d like to welcome Ricky van Wolfswinkel to Blighty. Ricky van Wolfswinkel is no stranger to the Greenygrey world of course, having been featured on this website when playing for Sporting Lisbon.

So we were thrilled to read that van Wolfswinkel signed for Norwich City, and will be playing for them in the Premier League next year; and in Norwich’s greenygrey ground!

Warm wishes to Wolfswinkel from the werewolf world.

Werewolf of Oz Episode to Cheer Up GG Team GB Supporters

Hi, it’s Greenygrey, we’ve held our sports correspondent back for another day, after GG’s fave team, Team GB, had a disastrous  disappointing first day. At least the GB ladies football team had another good win, and Brazil’s ladies have chosen to employ the Greenygrey backroom staff that worked so well for Portugal in Euro 2012. Here’s a photo of the BACKroom staff in action from the BBC coverage:

We thought we’d cheer up all GG fans Team GB supporters with an episode of Grey’s comedy-fantasy classic Werewolf of Oz, and here it is:

I gathered momentum after passing Coorow, and was soon on the Green Head Road. This of course reminded me of my other half Green, and I became quite nostalgic once again. At least it took my mind off Latham, which was pushed to the extremities of my memories.

Greyt Welcome for Grey in Grey

I was making good progress toward Perth when I found myself on the Grey Road to Grey. Unbelievable I know, but true and totally unplanned! If I was writing pure fiction I wouldn’t dare include it! It’s finding hidden little treasures like this that keep the magic of virtual travelling alive for me.

When I entered Grey there was another surprise (purely fictional this time!), because there were welcome signs for me everywhere. One read: ‘The Grey is Greyt’; while another went a little too far for my liking, although it did sound rather tasty: ‘The Grey is Veggie Gravy Filled with Fried Onions on Top of Mashed Potato and Mushrooms.’ I appreciated the thought all the same… and the recipe.

We had a greyt night.

Greenygrey at the London Olympics 2012

Hi, it’s Martin ‘Werewolfie’ Adams, sports correspondent at the Greenygrey. I’m proud to announce that the Greenygrey will be represented at the London Olympics 2012, after a greenygrey Stonehenge bouncy castle has been commissioned. It was fittingly unveiled on a green field under grey skies.

Dastardly and Muttley win Inspiration Contest for Olympic Uniforms

Hi, it’s Green.  On behalf of all at the Greenygrey we would like to congratulate Dastardly and Muttley for winning the contest to inspire the colour of the volunteer uniforms in the London Olympics 2012.

The news was broken by the Londonist, and they also provided the photo with the inspiration and models together that is copied below.

Although we congratulate both inspirations, we only like Muttley.

Olympic Mascots: Wenlock and Mandeville

And while we’re on the subject, I think Grey and I could have done a better job as Olympic mascot than bloody Wenlock and Mandeville.

C’est la vie…

Although we are both featured on Mandeville.  I’m begginning to warm to ol’ Mandy now…
