PhD PHILOSOPH4 POEMS

More philosophic poems by a middle-aged white Doctor of Philosophy who’s been blogging freely for twenty years, after being persecuted out of university for criticising Multicultural Fascism!:

In response to someone posting AC/DC’s Rock n’ Roll Singer lyrics on Facebook:
Led me astray … in nineteen eight-a
1987 on the road I went away
hitchin’ n’ hiking, rock n’ rolling
2020 I’ve eased the tolling
cos downpayment blues
I had to start to pay!

(downpayment blues is another AC/DC song).

I think the way I do because
I’m special to me,
but i believe I’m just one life
in a belief system
encompassing all humanity.

I can easily write more poetry,
but will it surpass that written previously,
and is a plateau or downhill
simply artistic heresy?

Not looking for utopia
amongst humans any more.
Place to be: content mediocre
just trying to avoid deep dystopia!

If you liked the above there’s loads more in my books, and many much more epic and detailed; if you like that kind of thing!

Mirror Poem Seas Choppy Human Communication

Marc Latham’s latest Folding Mirror poem was inspired by noticing lies and isle are an anagram, and thinking they fitted into the FM form, as islands stick out above the ocean surface.

Mirror Poem Anagram Metaphor

He then put the poem together to fit in with that idea. The poem is from a lifetime of experience rather than anything recent. Human communication is as constant and unpredictable as the ocean waves.

Since writing the above, Marc decided to add another couple of anagrams from, in alphabetical order, the letters e-i- l-s, that sound like negative words, which was something he thought about, and also fitted in with adding a couple of words at the bottom to finish off the mirror falling-sinking form nicely.

Anagram Ocean Inspiration, Navigating Uncharted Metaphor

slie esil
lies are not an isle
jutting up jealously
sticking out
high above surface

stormy poisoned seas, dragging sailors down

tattered tugboats try
staying together
seeing out storm
truth usually sails against wind
often sinking

New Mirror Poetry Book Published on Kindle

Further to yesterday’s blog, Marc Latham’s 242 Mirror Poems and Reflections has now been reviewed and published on Amazon Kindle, and is available to view and buy for a token payment price, which has partly been imposed to make the book available to only those who want to read it. People who don’t want to read about the topics covered in the book shouldn’t be as tempted as they might be if it was free.
There was one late change to the poems included, with Libran Scales not really working without its image format, which didn’t translate into the Kindle format, so Basket Case was included. That of course means that all the Folding Mirror poems so far published on this site have now been published.
Thanks again to everybody that has visited this site over the last three years; without your support the book probably wouldn’t have been completed, and certainly wouldn’t have taken the title and form it has.
Have a great Sunday…
