Reconnecting with my families
sunlight, rocks and trees
no barriers in-between
brain disk clean.

At one with tree canopy
eyes’ white light greenery
north’s solar open season
Earth’s axis tilt summer reason.

Autumn / Fall Poem with Aerosmith / Mamas and Papas References

Marc Latham’s new Folding Mirror poem is another seasonal one, waving goodbye to summer and welcoming autumn/fall. After a good summer in Britain it’s not too bad to see autumn/fall arrive, as this poem explains.

Mamas and Papas, Aerosmith and Mike Oldfield

The poem references Mamas and Papas and their anthemic autumn/fall song California Dreamin’ at the start, as well as Aerosmith’s Seasons of Wither in the middle. It also uses Mike Oldfield of Tubular Bells fame instead of old fields.

Can you guess what the 10-11 signifies? Here’s the poem:

Summer Jumps South, Autumn Falls North

leaves are brown
sky is grey
but Mamas and Papas
this summer’s been California
in the U.K.
many a day

season of wither, welcome come hither

excuse to rest
slowing cycle 10-11
deciduous trees glow dreaming
new seeds Mike Oldfields
hoping to replenish
as nature intended
