Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix – French Open Tennis

It was another Mercedes/Team GG double at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, while Roger Federer, Serena Williams and Alize Lim set the French Open agreenygrey on the first day.

Satirical Comedy Sports Report

Hi, it’s Martin ‘Werewolfie’ Adams, satirical comedy sports correspondent at the Greenygrey inspired by darts legend Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams.

It was lucky grey for Rory McIlroy in the PGA Golf, and for Rotherham in the League One play-off final at Wembley, with the green grass providing some great greenygrey action, but today I only have time for the sports that have given the greenYgrey the greatest success over the years… in a French connection double.

Formula 1: Monaco Grand Prix

Yes, Team GG/Mercedes increased their lead at the top of the Formula 1 team championship after doing yet another 1-2 at the Monaco Grand Prix.

However, there was a change in the order, as Nico Rosberg beat Lewis Hamilton and also retook the lead in the drivers’ championship table.

There was some good news for old friendly foe original inspiration; along with Team GB; rivals Red Bull, as Daniel Ricciardo  took his first podium finish in third place.

Tennis: French Open

Roger Federer set the ball rolling at the French Open with a great gYgboo (greenYgrey boomerang) after comfortably winning his first round match.

Wearing grey, Federer found a green and yellow background to expertly pull off the gYgboo, and invoke memories of his glory days.

Fed-1

However, Federer’s performance proved to be only a prelude to the greenYgrey highlight of the day, as Serena Williams and Alize Lim provided a classic display of combined greenYgreying: when they shook hands at the end they probably achieved an upside down gYgboo x2, but we don’t have a photo to confirm it for you.

While the human world’s media was more interested in her sister Venus’s outfit, Serena embraced the greenYgrey rebranding in a bright yellow and grey outfit, and got in the full greenYgrey during breaks, using a green towel… and there was plenty of green courtside.

On the court, she combined well while defeating her good friend Lim, who wore a great greenYgrey top to match with the greenYgrey background and yellow ball.

Satirical Comedy Spanish Grand Prix and Madrid Tennis Sports Report

It was Viva Greenygreya on the weekend, as I saw some great greenygrey action in Spain at the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix and the Madrid Open tennis tournament.

Spanish Grand Prix

Hi, it’s Martin ‘Werewolfie’ Adams, sports correspondent at the Greenygrey inspired by darts legend Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams.

Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg did the 1-2 in the Spanish Grand Prix to make it another double-double since my last satirical comedy sports report, after the two Mercedes drivers finished in the same positions in the Chinese Grand Prix two weeks ago. Mercedes is of course known as Team GG in the greenYgrey world.

After the Spanish Grand Prix, Team GG via Mercedes has extended its lead over old inspirations and friendly foes Red Bull by over 100 points: 197 to 84.

Madrid Open Tennis

Tennis players warmed up for the French Open later this month in the Madrid Open. It was won by old Team GG stalwart Rafa Nadal, who is dominant on clay, which isn’t very greenygrey.

However, there was still lots of great greenygrey action, as the stadium made up for the surface.

Although werewolfish Nadal won the tournament, it was his old vampirish nemesis Roger Federer who ironically showed the best greenYgrey form.

Rafa Nadal French Open Final for Team GG

Hi, it’s Martin ‘Werewolfie’ Adams, comedy satire sports correspondent at the Greenygrey. Great news for Team GG yesterday, as Rafa Nadal won through to tomorrow’s French Open men’s final at Roland Garros. We’re celebrating today with a fantastic French Open google-searched greenygrey photo special.

Rafa Nadal v Novak Djokovic

We had some mixed feelings yesterday, as Rafa Nadal wore an away Team GG kit, while Novak Djokovic almost wore greenygrey.

With Nadal the werewolf of the top men’s players, and Federer the vampire, Djokovic must be the very strong and good looking (being diplomatic not gay for all homophobic people) Frankenstein.

So in the end, we had to plump for Nadal… after he won! Commiserations to Djokovic, who reminded us of our close letter relative F in defeat, with our G(G) getting all the gglory in recent years.

French Open Losing Competitors like Fs

So, wishing the weekend’s finalists luck, we remember those who took part too, as we can relate to them in the letter world: there would be no G without an F before it.

And maybe the F would be where the G is today, if it hadn’t shared the F sound with PH. So, here’s some fun fantastic French Open photos… in glorious greenygrey:

Wimbledon 2012: Murray Mount holds off Greenygrey Gulch Grove

Hi, it’s Martin ‘Werewolfie’ Adams. The main screen viewing place at the Wimbledon tennis tournament changed from Henman Hill to Murray Mount after Tim Henman retired and Andy Murray took over as the big British men’s singles hope.

Murray Mounts Title Challenge

With Murray suffering a bad back at the start of the tournament, and greenygrey weather forecast for most of the tournament’s fortnight, we were ready to rename Murray Mount ‘Greenygrey Gulch Grove’ for the end of the tournament.

But Andy Murray has managed to win through to today’s Wimbledon men’s singles final, and there has been enough greenyblue weather to keep the tournament on schedule; although we are proud that the greenygrey centre-court roof did help.

Good luck to Andy Murray today, and congratulations to Britain’s Jonathan Marray and Denmark’s Freddie Nielsen for last night’s thrilling men’s doubles win.
