World Cup Football and Ascot Ladies Day Fashion

An ab fab sporting summer is continuing with World Cup 2014 football in Brazil starring, the Wimbledon tennis tournament starting on Monday, and the Ascot horse racing meeting finishing today. It was ladies day at Ascot on Thursday, and there was some great greenYgrey fashion there, while Brazil continues to lead the greenYgrey fashion stakes in their World Cup.

Hi, it’s Stella Lagerwolf-Bruno and Paco Wolfsang with a double-header satirical comedy sports fashion report from Brazil and Blighty.

In a great greenYgrey balanced sports report we are therefore mixing men’s and women’s fashion, to try and maintain gender equality, and with no hint of any sexuality.

Brazil World Cup Fashion

Hi, it’s Stella virtually live from Brazil, inspired by Stella McCartney (who we love, in a darling way), Karl Lagerfeld (ambivalent darling), Bruno (love darling), wolves and lager.

Brazil’s Julio Cesar continues to lead the greenYgrey fashion stakes way in Brazil, with a great greenYgrey goalie shirt, but he’s being pushed closely by a member of the Brazilian defence, Dani Alves, who has dyed his hair grey. Blending in with the green and yellow of his shirt it creates a great greenYgrey effect.

Cesar and Alves helped Brazil achieve a clean sheet as they drew 0-0 with Mexico.

World Cup Kits

There are lots of other greenYgreyesque goalie shirts on view at the World Cup, with most mostly green, and others mostly grey.

Iran kept a clean sheet with their latter such shirt in their first game, and Switzerland won their first game 2-1 with theirs.

However, despite Benaglio’s fine penalty save, Switzerland went down 5-2 to France last night.

Iran’s goalie is likely to be busy tonight as well, as they face Argentina.

That’s about it from me, and I’ll now hand you over to the capable hands of Paco over in Blighty.

Ascot Ladies Day Fashion

Hi, it’s Paco, inspired by Paco Rabanne, who makes exceedingly good perfumes etc. While a lot of you might think Stella got the best assignment, virtually travelling to Brazil, it is winter in the southern hemisphere, while it is summer in the northern; although it’s hot all year round in northern Brazil, as it’s close to the equator.

The sunny weather we’ve been enjoying in Blighty this month certainly brought the ladies out blossoming at Ascot, and together with the racecourse foliage this created some great greenYgrey fashion.

Here’s a couple of ab fab examples of the great new greenYgrey image, followed by an ab fab classic greenygrey:

There’s loads of great sport to gamble on over the next fortnight, but it’s only for over-18s (in the U.K. anyway), and please gamble responsibly.

Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics Sports Report

The Sochi Winter Olympics was set alight in double gold yesterday, as Tina Maze of Slovenia and Dominique Gisin of Switzerland shared gold as they finished with exactly the same time in the women’s downhill skiing.

The Slovenian team put on a great greenygreying display at the Sochi opening ceremony, and were rewarded with their first Winter Olympics gold medal… and the first for Team GG.

Historic Women’s Downhill Double Gold

Hi, it’s Martin ‘Werewolfie’ Adams with a wacky wordplay comedy sports report from Winter Olympics 2014 in Sochi, Russia.

Tuesday was JJ-Day in the U.K. as Jenny Jones won Team GB‘s first Winter Olympics medal on snow by taking bronze in the slopestyle snowboarding.

Wednesday was undoubtedly GG-Day at Sochi though, with the historic double gold for Maze and Gisin.

Moreover, Gisin’s team-mate Lara Gut also made it a  Swiss GG by taking bronze.

Sochi 2014 Greenygrey

There hasn’t looked like there’s much greenygrey at Sochi, with snow and clear skies dominating, but underneath the surface the greenygrey is undoubtedly there.

Here’s twelve more fun greenygreying photos from an image search on Google:

Full Moon Affects Human Sleep Scientists Discover

Hi, it’s Wolf Whitzer, intrepid newshound at the Greenygrey with a Greenygrey News (GNN) newsflash.

Full Moon Affects Human Body, Mind and Sleep

While it has of course been known in the werewolf world that the full moon is very important to critters and creatures living on the surface of planet Earth, there is now some scientific evidence about it in the human world.

As reported in the Medical News Today article Full moon affects not only werewolves but human sleep too scientists in Switzerland have found that volunteers un-a-were of when a full moon was occurring still had the following reactions to a full moon:

  • Brain activity associated with deep sleep (during non-rapid eye movement) fell by nearly a third,
  • On average it took the volunteers 5 minutes longer to fall asleep, and their sleep was 20 minutes shorter, and
  • There was a drop in levels of melatonin, a protein that helps regulate sleep and wake cycles.

Overview of biological circadian clock in humans. Biological clock affects the daily rhythm of many physiological processes. This diagram depicts the circadian patterns typical of someone who rises early in morning, eats lunch around noon, and sleeps at night (10 p.m.). Although circadian rhythms tend to be synchronized with cycles of light and dark, other factors – such as ambient temperature, meal times, stress and exercise – can influence the timing as well. This seems in line with the circadian rhythm, which has featured in several articles and poems on this website before.
