Kelly Gallagher Wins Sochi Gold Super G and Opening Ceremony

The Sochi Winter Paralympics 2014 has started brilliantly for Team GB and Team GG, and reached great brilliance levels this morning when Kelly Gallagher won gold for Team GB in the visually impaired Super G with the help of her guide Charlotte Evans.

Kelly Gallagher and Charlotte Evans’s 12G Performance

Hi, it’s Martin ‘Werewolfie’ Adams with a satirical comedy sports report, containing real feelings of awe and inspiration at the achievement and bravery of the Paralympic athletes.

Yes, with two Gs in Gallagher’s surname; the Super G meaning two Gs (when Green and Grey are together) in the Greenygrey world, the G of gold, the G of Team GB, the GG of Team GG, and the two Gs times two in the greenygrey colours worn by Kelly Gallagher and Charlotte Evans that makes it a 12G performance by my reckoning.

Sochi Paralympics Super G Results

There’s a lot more Super G at the Paralympics. Anna Schaffelhuber won the Women’s Super G Sitting for Germany. Claudia Loesch won silver for Austria. Laurie Stephens won bronze for Team USA, and Anna Turney of Team GB just missed out on a medal finishing fourth… at least she made it onto the Greenygrey!

Marie Bochet and Solene Jambaque did the double for France in the Women’s Super G Standing, with Stephanie Jallen of Team USA taking bronze.

Akira Kano and Taiki Morii did the double for Japan in the Men’s Super G Sitting, with Caleb Brousseau of Canada taking bronze.

Akira Kano is on his way to gold in the men's super-G sitting class at the Sochi Paralympics on March 9. The Paralympics are being held in Sochi, Russia, in the same venues as the recently completed Winter Olympic Games.

Markus Salcher and Matthias Lanzinger did the double for Austria in the Men’s Super G Standing, with Alexey Bugaev of Russia taking bronze.

Jakub Krako of Slovakia took gold in the Men’s Super G Visually Impaired , with Mark Bathum of Team USA taking silver. Mac Marcoux of Canada took bronze.

Good luck to all the competitors, and I hope the Sochi 2014 Winter Paralympics continues to proceed as greenygrey greatly as the opening ceremony:

Golden Day for Teams GG and GB in Ungreenygrey Venues

Thursday was a golden day for teams GG and GB, reports Martin ‘Werewolfie’ Adams. Team GB started the gold flurry when Nicola Adams took the first female boxing gold medal ever; winning the flyweight division title at Olympics 2012. This was quickly followed by Team GG, which got its fourth gold of the games when Katie Taylor won women’s lightweight boxing gold.

Team GB then won its first taekwondo gold when Jade Jones won gold in the women’s 57kg division. Charlotte Dujardin also won dressage gold for Team GB in a more greenygrey location.

Greenygrey 1-2-3 in Men’s 200m Athletics Final

Team GG got a daily double when Usain Bolt did the sprint double by winning the 200 metres final, after winning the 100 metres last Sunday. Bolt was followed by Blake and Weir also representing Team GG.

Team GB has been solidly in third place since last weekend, and if Team GG was a country we would now be in about 14th place, just behind Japan and the Netherlands, who also have five golds.

Team GB Win Olympic Silver in Greenygrey Stonehenge

Hi, it’s Andy Wolfhol, creator extraordinaire at the Greenygrey. There were no new medals for Team GG yesterday, but Team GB got a silver in the equestrian team event. I was captivated by the layout of the jumps, with the fences supported by British landmarks, such as Trafalgar Square lions (we’d have preferred wolves of course!) and postboxes.

Stonehenge at Olympics 2012

My favourite jump display was the triple Stonehenge themed jumps, which not only brought a little bit of the ancient world to the games, but also looked very greenygrey, as shown in this still from the BBC highlights:

Werewolf of Oz Episode to Cheer Up GG Team GB Supporters

Hi, it’s Greenygrey, we’ve held our sports correspondent back for another day, after GG’s fave team, Team GB, had a disastrous  disappointing first day. At least the GB ladies football team had another good win, and Brazil’s ladies have chosen to employ the Greenygrey backroom staff that worked so well for Portugal in Euro 2012. Here’s a photo of the BACKroom staff in action from the BBC coverage:

We thought we’d cheer up all GG fans Team GB supporters with an episode of Grey’s comedy-fantasy classic Werewolf of Oz, and here it is:

14.  GREY TAKES GREY ROAD TO GREY

I gathered momentum after passing Coorow, and was soon on the Green Head Road. This of course reminded me of my other half Green, and I became quite nostalgic once again. At least it took my mind off Latham, which was pushed to the extremities of my memories.

Greyt Welcome for Grey in Grey

I was making good progress toward Perth when I found myself on the Grey Road to Grey. Unbelievable I know, but true and totally unplanned! If I was writing pure fiction I wouldn’t dare include it! It’s finding hidden little treasures like this that keep the magic of virtual travelling alive for me.

When I entered Grey there was another surprise (purely fictional this time!), because there were welcome signs for me everywhere. One read: ‘The Grey is Greyt’; while another went a little too far for my liking, although it did sound rather tasty: ‘The Grey is Veggie Gravy Filled with Fried Onions on Top of Mashed Potato and Mushrooms.’ I appreciated the thought all the same… and the recipe.

We had a greyt night.
