Stranger Things Eddie Munson Fans

Stranger Things‘s Eddie Munson is apparently creating a big online interest in 1980s metal, with his favourite song Metallica’s Master of Puppets. Metallica were one of my favourite bands too, and I included them as one of my biggest poetry inspirations at the start of my first poetry collection.

Moreover, Eddie Munson fandom says he shares my 1965/66 birth time, dysfunctional childhood, height and hair colour! I can’t say I’ve watched any of it, and don’t get into series like that anymore. I’d probably watch it as a film, as I’ve watched many such movies such as Brightburn, The Endless and Freaks recently. Werewolf of Oz cites similar fiction I’d watched before starting writing, while XaW Files of course was inspired by X-Files.

1980s and early ’90s Metal music and lyrics provided the major soundtrack and framework for my early poetry and fantasy writing, while my late 1980s memoir cited Guns N’ Roses in the title, and had many recollections of heavy metal music and magazines I carried; while generally trying to travel light!

Hard to think it was 40 years ago, and to new fans must seem like the early 1940s did to me then.
The 1960s birth of rock seemed ancient to me, while the 1950s birth of rock n’ roll in black and white had next to no cultural relevance. 1940s music seemed just for movies and barely existed!!

my work on 8 Out of 10 Cats… missing link?!

After I re-re-adapted the goldilocks story space had used for habitable planets to romance on my greenYgrey blog I recently saw Phil Wang use it on the 8 OUT OF 10 CATS! comedy panel show (repeat from January this year, available on Channel 4 in the UK).
Had he heard of it from me, either directly or indirectly; or is it just a coincidence?

Missing Link greenYgrey Missing Link?

Seeing my joke on TV reminded me of thinking the Missing Link movie had a lot of greenYgrey’s rambles similarities: with it being a sasquatch rather than werewolf!

It also started in British Columbia (on Blogspot) and had a searching for self-knowledge across the world theme, with the greenYgrey total amnesia, and Link for family. It also seems to have a class and anti-hunting theme (I haven’t seen it), as the greenYgrey did at the time; before Meghan Markle arrived and complicated everything, making me value tradition and stability much more!

Although it was American made (by Laika) the writer and many actors were British: the kind of people in line with my green left side, such as Walliams, Fry and Lucas!

I also found an eerie coincidence when I looked up Laika, as they also made Corpse Bride; and I said that’s what Meghan Markle (her portrayed ‘vulnerable victim’ image) reminded me of when she got married to Harry on my travel25years blog; only in February last year! Seems a lot longer!!

The writer, Chris Butler, says he grew up on such stories though, and the greenYgrey was similarly a combination of old themes, so it’s probably all a coincidence!

Priscilla Presley doesn’t know me: obituary apology

All our brain’s pure light
divided by prism of life
pulled apart, distorted, lied.

I’d been thinking of how the light of original thought and speech were distorted by others, like a prism separates light into different colours recently, and thought this epitaph could have described my decade-long writing protagonist/theme/logo greenYgrey for me: “..There are no words for you. Angel is the closest I could think of. Pure light… Wild man…Twin soul… Too sensitive for this harsh world.’

If anybody thinks it’s bad taste (if Priscilla Presley or any of the family ever hear of this; which I very much doubt; it is done with sensitivity and respect, in my own ‘rock n’ roll remembered’ way!) paraphrasing somebody else’s obituary, it’s done in the best possible taste (paraphrasing Kenny Everett!), and people like Ben Keough should have been the target audience, but they were misled by Multicultural Fascism, and supporting people who just want to rape and rob them!

Warminster UFOs: My Western Sky Birth Party?

As the brightest comet of the 20th century, Ikeya-Seki, shone in the far eastern sky around my birth, there was one of the biggest prolonged UFO experiences in the near west, in Warminster, Wiltshire – from my Jersey boy birth – as far as I know!

I’m not trying to scare you, or recruit you for a cult, just having a rational(ien) entertaining investigation of a couple of sky events around my birth; a birth date/year I probably share with hundreds or thousands of people, some of whom lived nearer one of the events, and some who lived more in the middle, greenYgrey style!

Warminster UFOs – Ikeya Seki

It was reading about the Warminster UFO hearings/sightings in Nigel Watson’s UFO: Investigations Manual (pages 51-3) that led me to discover Ikeya-Seki, as I’d never heard about it (or Warminster) before, as far as I remember now anyway.

Watson wrote the book giving ‘rational’ context as well as ‘romantic’, and does that with Warminster. It is near a lot of ancient sites, such as Stonehenge and Glastonbury, with several ley lines passing through it, but there was also a lot of military activity there.

The Warminster UFO outbreak, as described by Watson, started in December, 1964, and lasted for about a year – covering my birth date; as comet Ikeya-Seki did, being discovered September 18th, 1965, and seen until last perihelion on October 21st.

Returning to research Ikeya-Seki today, I found these greenYgrey and POP (PinkyOrangePurple) sky photos attributed to it on Bing. I don’t know if it is actually it, and if the photos have been edited?:

Warminster UFOs Investigated

The Warminster experience started with prolonged loud otherworldly noises in the night, which looking at it rationally, could have been something military – although it was a long time ago, it was twenty years after nuclear bombs were dropped in the east, and V2 doodlebug rockets had whistled above Blighty. The space race was also already on.

However, then there were many sightings, although a rationalist would argue that the noise had triggered them, and people were seeing things they wanted to see; or seeing things such as military balloons as UFOs.

There were some photos, and lots of media reporting and books, but I don’t know how authentic they are; although they look impressive… and with lots of gYgPOP relevance!

A 1965 news report on the ThingA 1965 picture taken of the

Thankfully, the ‘invasion’ never happened. Moreover, researching it a little online, there had been ‘mysterious happenings’ reports in the town before the 1960s. Again, that could have been military, especially in Cold War, nuclear threat 1950s Blighty.

 Area 51 Coincidences?

Becoming quite knowledgeable in the subject now, I could connect the stories through Area 51; said to be the name of the USA’s top secret base, where UFOs are said to be, if anywhere.

The Warminster experience starts on page 51 in Watson’s book, but it is a book full of UFO stories, so one of them was going to be on page 51.

The Ikeya-Seki comet is also known as S1, which is also supposed to be another name for  Area 51. I guess it was called that after Seki, which is a way they are named, but don’t know why it wasn’t named after Ikeya, or both?

Comets can look like UFOs of course, and the painting of Ikeya-Seki featured in yesterday’s blog post does look like a classic UFO!

My X-Files parody book looked for coincidences rather than UFOs, and it is the media that has rekindled my interest in it.

Another Artistic Writer Genius Connecting Word Emulating Beach Boys

wrIus

Connecting writer and genius words greenYgrey-style by the i, represented by i-first-letter indigo (a type of purple), and relevant for the PinkyOrangePurple new POP art age, with the wr first two letters of writer pretty in pink, and the us last two letters of genius represented in orange. For correct POPistry the I would be orange, and the us purple/indigo, but for this new wrIus word the colouring of the i in indigo took precedence.

I just searched it, and it didn’t bring up such a word, so I hereby wryly Wil. E (Coyote) claim it as mine; writer I hoping for your (us) support!

It’s the first word of my wriarTistry phase, or second if you count wriarTistry itself, which connected write and artistry by the T, as slant rhyme works in poetry: ‘Half rhyme is one of the major poetic devices. It is also called an “imperfect rhyme,” “slant rhyme,” “near rhyme,” or “oblique rhyme.” ‘

Love Paris Style

In the greenYgrey years I would have this morning no doubt written how much I loved Paris’s AAWsome Versace greenYgrey look at the Oscars…

… for her WOW beauty not her father’s controversy, but now it’s all about I.

Which Beach Boy Am I? Changed Over Time

My greenYgrey books are a record of when I was warm and wolflike: like Denis Wilson of the Beach Boys. I watched a Classic Albums documentary about the Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds album last night, and related to how Brian Wilson left touring to focus on being an ‘artist’, experimenting and breaking new ground.

However, although it’s considered a classic now it didn’t do as commercially well as their previous simpler albums. I like to think that’s how it is with my XaW Files: Beyond Humanity, and one day it’ll be recognised as the classic it should be.

For example, it’s the only book I know that has a protagonist that is at one stage dissected to the constituent parts of one letter: the Y three.

In my younger life, and the start of the greenYgrey I was probably more like Denis Wilson, who was the only real surfer beach boy of the group, and lived that lifestyle to the full, before drowning after totally going off the rails.

In last night’s documentary he was shown appreciating what Brian had done on Pet Sounds, and how it had made him ‘know’ what Brian had been trying to do in the previous ten records. The record and top three books on Amazon about it have a nice greenYgrey design thing going too!

I was like Denis with Brian when I was a rock fan, looking up to the lyrics and music of my heroes, appreciating their deep gravitas. Hopefully I’ve now emulated them and become like Brian; who wrote most of the music, and gave it its artistic direction. Tony Asher combined with him on the lyric writing, and of course lots of the other studio workers, band and session musicians contributed their ideas and music.

Leeds Tour de France Le Grande Depart Article

Hi, it’s Jack Wolfpac, travel writing correspondent at the Greenygrey inspired by the legendary travel writer Jack Kerouac. I was delighted to see this morning that there’s a new travel article on Leeds hosting Le Grande Depart of the Tour de France on July 5th.

Go Nomad Travel Site Photo

The article is on the Go Nomad site, which has been a leader in alternative travel writing on the web since 2000.

The article provides travel info about Leeds and Yorkshire through a virtual tour of the city, as well as providing a little historical and retail facts. There’s also a lot of photos and a little of the author’s endurance sport history in the region linking the info and facts together into a travel article.

Ideas and Rhymes that Led to New Mirror Poem

Hi, it’s Andy Wolfhol. Exciting news from the world of poetry, where our favourite pumpkin Marc Latham has just published his latest Folding Mirror poem on fmpoetry. Moreover, Marc has also given us access to the ideas and poetry that stemmed from his article editing, and led to that new Folding Mirror poem.

We think the original ideas and poems will be more than enough for you for today, and hope to import the new Folding Mirror poem in for tomorrow. Here are the ideas and poems:

MTV

This is the age
of the microscope
and telescope
rise of the human race
viewing from space
falling with grace
talking to the animals
polly parrot parables
beluga requests charitables
will the minuscule
lead to a fairer rule
or just a deeper pool
full of junk and pollution
advance without cohesion
bacteria of Earth’s lesion.

—————————————-

From the flow of writing prose
tributaries of poetry are often created.

—————————————-

Words echo-locate through mind
like bats at midnight
searching for clear passage
nocturnal nature flying
through dank darkness.

—————————————-

Words echo through mind
growing louder, more resonant
filling the valley of the unconscious
settling, bubbling, rising,
overflowing, released, responded.

Marc Latham’s latest Folding Mirror poem wonders why you’re reading this in the top half and then tries to answer the conundrum in the bottom half, based on his own experiences. Thanks to Zemanta for providing a couple of nice greenygrey photos. Here’s the poem:
Breathing Works Both Ways
why spend time in my lifework
in this age
of digital liberty,
when we all
have the means for creativity,
to write, draw, photograph, speak and sing
exhaling, inhaling
for reading, looking, observing, listening and pleasure
sometimes we have to absorb
what is around
outside the mind
to learn how
others perceive the world we share

Through the Looking Glass

Imagining I was Alice
inside mirror, room reversed
feeling disoriented, left on
right
on left, disoriented feeling,
reversed room, mirror inside.
Alice was I: imagining.
